I had no idea you could erase yourself. thanks for the info.

That's fine but are they also able to look up your address, relatives, places you've lived as well?

Where there is a will there is a way. I work for a publicly held corporation and am amazed at the software that I have at my disposal for finding people. I have yet to run across some one I could not find. It is pretty creepy. We have set up a dark web office so that we can locate people using more unconventional means. Someone was less than pleasant to my daughter and within thirty minutes I put together over twenty five pages of information on this person. Another fifteen minutes provided information on everyone related to this person, two generations back. All of this came from a first name and physical address. If I am able to do this in the private sector, one's mind can be blown by what members of the government can do. We have hired ex FBI/CIA/police/private detectives who have amazed me with what they can find. I probably would not make a habit of challenging people to find out information about me.

The moral of this story is, don't do anything you need to hide.

It's not about doing anything about hiding anything.  Some of these companies have access to your personal information and sell it to these places.  I don't want people knowing my address, age and who I'm related to.  How do they know my relatives? I don't know what someone could be doing with the info.  They just need a few pieces of info and they could steal my identity.  Take out loan, credit cards, etc.

I have done it, it doesn't really bother me though, I'm not famous and not wealthy, I've not committed any crimes that I know of, and occasionally, I need to know a past address so it can be helpful!  :)

I found one but it dates back to my middle days when the class helped out people at the local park.

This websites doesn't show my name, so it's more interesting to Google my User Name.

I've done this but it really doesn't bother me.  If someone really wants to find your info, they'll find a way.

I did a survey this morning regarding Facebook and Google and about how I would want it to be a good idea to break up both services, and how China wants to control how the internet is used.
