I take a couple of spritzes of CBD now along with a few melatonin gummies.
Then I read for a while and then listen to an audio book and I'm out for the duration. Hope I don't sound like a druggie.  :icon_rr:

As soon as I put my head down I'm out in a matter of minutes. Otherwise I will read a book just so my eyes get tired.

I take a melatonin and read until I get sleepy, which doesn't take long.

I don't do anything, I just stick it out.  It happens to me quite often and when I finally do get to sleep I wake up constantly for no reason.

It depends what I am doing the next day. If I am not doing anything, then often I will stay up until I start falling a sleep. I hate laying there trying to get to sleep. It is depressing. :-X

I just lay there and keep my eyes closed.  Rarely do I actually get up.  Sometimes I go online for a bit.

I would either try to force myself asleep or think of something that would demand a lot of thought with my eyes close and I think the latter works effectively because I don't remember where my thinking has progressed when I wake up in the morning.
"Let me ask you something. If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule?"

I read until I get sleepy. Then I sleep 10 minutes, wake up and lay there for a long time.  I recite the alphabet in reverse.  Then I recite, in my mind, the presidents of the United States, in order.  I stop with President Obama.

I rarely have trouble falling asleep, but sometimes I can't stay asleep. But when I bed down for the night, I have my TV on with the sleep timer set for 20-30 minutes and the volume down low. I'm out within 5 minutes. Some nights I take a melatonin or another sleep aid to help me stay asleep all night, like on the nights I have to get up earlier than usual the next day. Because I ALWAYS have to get up at least once during the night for the bathroom, and that's usually when I may have trouble drifting off again.
