According to calendria's post, today is National Fruitcake Day!  I did receive a fruitcake this year.  I like candied fruit, but it has to be in a moist cake to be edible.  It's too bad that fruitcake is the butt of many a joke.  :turkey:

BACON BITS
A 275-pound pig nets 16 pounds of bacon, or approximately 560 thinly sliced pieces, according to the National Pork Board.
Preserving and salt-curing pork dates back to 1500 B.C. in China.
Greek and Roman cultures expanded the tradition, and centuries ago bacon became a favorite of people in France,   Germany and England.
The first packaged sliced bacon was patented by Oscar Mayer in 1924.
The average American consumes almost 18 pounds of bacon each year.

National Keto Day

Is anyone on this diet?  I just noticed this on one of the sites I do regularly and wanted to share.

https://nationaldaycalendar.com/national-keto-day-january-5/

The Vitamin Shoppe founded National Keto Day on January 5, 2019, to educate and bring awareness to the ketogenic diet and further highlight the many health benefits a keto lifestyle offers. In 2019, the Registrar at National Day Calendar ® proclaimed National Keto Day to be observed annually on January 5th. There are over 1,500 national days.

Eliminate these foods if you are considering a keto diet:

sweets, sugar, sodas, baked goods
grains, whole grains, and starches
fruits, starchy vegetables
hydrogenated oils, vegetable oil
diet foods, including low sugar, sugar-free, low-fat foods

Guess what we are eating today:

Today is known as National Sloppy Joe Day! How do you feel about sloppy joes?

I love them!

They're okay.
I don't like them at all.
I've never had a Sloppy Joe.
What is a Sloppy Joe?

I think think there should be more National Blank Days. There are to many days where we need to recognize something. I am sure there will be a national remember Covid 19 day or something like that after this mess is over.  Gets crazy after a while. >:(
