strange topic question
« on: July 23, 2019, 03:05:01 pm »
this is probably one of the strangest qualifying questions I've ever had:
Took up a residence in a pineapple under the sea     ???

Yes, they like to see if you are paying attention to the questions.

I love those really off the wall questions.  Have you been to Mars in the last 6 months was my favorite!

This is another of my favorites:
What is your year of birth?
For example, if you were born in 1981, enter 1981

DUH!!!!

It is seeing if you are paying attention.  It is referring to Sponge Bob who lives in a pineapple under the sea.
A lot of people do not read the questions but answer as quickly as possible to finish the survey and get paid.

Yes some of those questions to see if you are paying attention are funny.  The other day I was asked if I had taken a train to mars. LOL

These questions are so lame, they are not even funny.

Or they will ask your favorite ice cream but if you keep reading they tell you which flavor to choose. They want to see if you are paying attention.

Some ask your favorite ice cream flavor and that is the end of the question.  Maybe part of it is missing on my end at times because a lot of times I get kicked out after that question.

This is NOT what it says.

It does say what is your year of birth.  Then gives an example so stupid people understand the question.

The reason for this is people lie to get in to the survey.  It goes back to the asking the same question in more than one way more than one time to see if you give the same answer.  If you notice a lot of the surveys now tell you exactly how you need to answer in order to qualify.  We are looking for this age, that works in this department, at this type of company, that makes this much a year.  If you don't meet this you won't qualify.
Then it asks you those very questions.  So you know how to answer if you want to qualify. But if they throw in how old are you and what year are you born and you aren't paying attention and answer correctly and you lied to get in then it kicks you out.

I am always amazed by the surveys that give choices that no where match my demographic, with no option for "none of the above".  I usually just close out since I don't want to give a false answer, but I don't understand why they do that.

It is a question to see if you are paying attention, nothing more. Those types of questions can actually get fairly entertaining if you try to take surveys for long enough. My personal favorite was "have you had tea with the Queen of England in the last week?"
