Umm...I told myself I was not going to get in the middle of this...but Jedi is right.  I only started the '12 Days of Christmas' topic to have a lighthearted discussion about the song itself (and most everyone's heard it).  Of course, it is biblical in origin, but over the years the song has poked fun at the commercialization of giving presents at Christmas.

Hitch & Co. -- please give it a rest and don't take things so seriously.  Yes, your 1st Amendment rights do protect you.  We get that.  I am a well-educated reader of the Bible, too.  I only recently discovered the many books that have arisen out of Genesis 6 discussing the mysterious identity of both the “sons of God” and the Nephilim.  This is a fascinating topic for both Bible scholars and everyday people.
Well please show us the 12 days of Xmas using the bible? Also JJ doesnt support the Nephillm. And getting back to Xmas, dont ya think if God wanted us to know date of Jesus BD he would have showed us as he did the date of his execution?

I could care less about my 1st amendment rights. When mans laws compromise Gods laws i direct you to what Peter said.We must obey God as ruler.

I know its EZ to fall prey from snare of man in this world. But truth be Xmas is a pagan holiday influenced by Gods enemy Satan.Would you support something that was brought on by an enemy of yours?Im just asking you to see how God views it.NOT mankind or Satan.

I hope you didnt pay for your bible studies.Jesus said to learn and give free the truth.

The 12 Days of Christmas doesn't NEED to be in the bible. It was used to teach young children biblical truths back in the Middle Ages.

I've gone over this a thousand times with hitch. He's either purposefully obtuse or incapable of understanding this verse from scripture

Romans 14 5-6
One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord.

and 13-14

Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.  I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean.

No one is saying you MUST celebrate Christmas to be saved, but Paul is very clear you must not pass judgement on those who celebrate a 'special day' for the Lord.

I've examined & addressed every claim made against Christmas and he's yet to have one be justifiable.

Keep trying, hitch. SMH

And for the record, I have strong evidence for my opinions on the Nephilim, but that's hardly a topic that's incumbent for salvation. John MacArthur believes the Nephilim were supernatural creatures as well, yet I hardly have reason to question his salvation.

We can have theological disagreements without calling folks the spawn of Satan. I know it's a rough concept for you to grasp, but it CAN happen. lol

How Does Jesus Christ View Christmas?

If a celebration was to be held in your honor, would not your approval of its nature be of importance? Therefore, we do well to ask: Does the Bible indicate how Jesus views traditions steeped in paganism?

Jesus condemned religious leaders who compromised pure worship to gain converts. He said to such leaders: “You [travel] sea and land to make a single convert, and then you make him twice as ripe for destruction as you are yourselves.”—Matthew 23:15, Phillips.

Conversion was not to be accomplished by blending pagan and Christian beliefs. Paul, an apostle of Jesus, wrote to Christians living in Corinth: “You cannot be drinking the cup of Jehovah and the cup of demons.” (1 Corinthians 10:21) And in his next letter to them, Paul added: “Don’t link up with unbelievers and try to work with them. . . . How can there be harmony between Christ and the devil?”—2 Corinthians 6:14, 15, Phillips.

If a conscientious mother saw her child pick up candy from a sewage-filled gutter, she would insist that he get rid of it immediately. The thought of his eating it—even touching it—repels her. Christmas, though sweet to many, has been picked up from unsavory places. Jesus’ sentiments match those of the prophet Isaiah, who urged true worshipers of his day: “Turn away, turn away, get out of there, touch nothing unclean.”—Isaiah 52:11.

Therefore, true Christians today do not celebrate Christmas. While their position may seem strange to others, they view traditions as did Jesus. When asked: “Why is it your disciples overstep the tradition of the men of former times?” he replied: “Why is it you also overstep the commandment of God because of your tradition?” And he added: “You have made the word of God invalid because of your tradition.”—Matthew 15:2, 3, 6.

True Christians today manifest unity with Jesus by practicing “the form of worship that is clean and undefiled,” untarnished by the pagan traditions of men.—James 1:27.

Again, you can quote Watchtower tracts until you're blue in the face. You're not addressing the question. How is "paganism" being used in the celebration of Christmas? I already had to enlighten you on the origins of the Christmas Tree, shall I do so about Santa Claus too?

St Nicholas was a Christian in the late 3rd century, known for his secret acts of charity. Does that sound "pagan" to you?

I suppose you never let your kids read The Lion The Witch & the Wardrobe by C.S Lewis either, eh? Can't have fantasy based in Christianity with you guys, or you'll automatically label it 'Pagan".

But, no...you're NOT superstitious....right? lol

Tradition isn't an inherently evil thing. To put Christ's words in context (as I'm wont to do when you habitually take them out of context) Jesus pointed out the Pharisees corruption- hidden under the dressing of "tradition".

Mark 7 :8-13   You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.”

And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!  For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and, ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’ But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is Corban (that is, devoted to God)—  then you no longer let them do anything for their father or mother.  Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.”

So, as you see in comparison, Jesus is talking about the pharisees taking money that could go to needy (presumably elderly) parents. That's the same as celebrating Christmas? The Watchtower should be embarrassed with how they fleece the gullible with their flimsy reasoning. But as Barnum said, there's one born every minute...

Money cannot take the place of what we have accomplished since Hitch was banned.

And as a reminder it would be quite EZ to rack up getting referrals......if we chose to do so but dont.

And Gods people have been banned before and as Jesus said, the stones would cry out if need be."
