If I use any spice at all, it's only once in a while and I keep it mild.  I prefer to enjoy my food without a fiery interruption.

And no, I do not consider myself a wimp or a weakling just because I like it mild.   :silly:  Labels are for envelopes.

I can't deal with hot, spicy food.  The older you get, this is the way it usually works.  Besides, now I get heartburn quite easily.  Heartburn from spices and heartburn from eating more than I should is a problem.  I always ask for mild when there is a choice.

No, I tend to stay away from hot and spicy food; does not sit well with my tummy.

In the past I could eat Jalapeno peppers-no more.  I can barely handle spicy foods when it is mild.

To be honest I've never really liked peppers and spicy foods. I just don't like the taste of them for the most part and the heat they bring during a meal is just a turn off for me. I think I'm that way because my father didn't care for spicy foods at all and did not eat them. I can handle hot chili but admittedly the most recent experience I had was the diablo sauce on my taco bell meal. It was very hot, but wasn't as cringeworthy in the heat factor as I was expecting it and I handled it well.

I don't like hot or spicy food.  I can take a few drops of hot sauce on fish but that's it.

No I can't handle very hot pepper or very spicy food.  I have GERD and sometimes it bothers me if I eat spicy or hot foods.

Being located in the south you might assume a high tolerance for all manner of hot peppers and spicy foods.  Yes, there were contests among us when we were all so young on who could eat the hottest peppers -- Darwin always won!  And that was before we were educated on the Scoville rating for each pepper (thanks to Chef Stephan Pyles who is considered to be one of the founding fathers of Southwestern cuisine).

But alas, I'm aware of what happens to our bodies as we age.  I still go for the jalapeņos (as well as the smoke-dried ones known as chipotle) and peppers like the milder, green poblanos are fine, preferring to be wary of the dried version of poblano, chile ancho, which may be unpredictably hot.  But I warn ye all of the serranos and habaneros.

I Love Hot peppers and all kinds of spicy foods. I question the Ghost Pepper though. I can not see myself being able to tolerate one one of those peppers.

Oh goodness, no! I do not have the stomach to handle hot peppers and spicy food. Now, my mother on the other hand...I do not know how she does it, LOL.

No for me.  I cannot handle spicy food at all.  I just don't like the taste but family loves it so when I cook I always take out my portion and then add the spicy ingredients

I like spicy food but I don't like it too hot - it has to come back up eventually! Yikes.
