Motivation
« on: June 08, 2019, 07:31:09 am »
Well on the topic of motivation I seem to have none.  I just have no inspiration to do much besides try and earn a little extra money online and sleep.  I have o jump start myself someway but I am 65 and disabled and alone 98% of he time and it just seems like I have no reason.  What a waste though and so I am going to try and straighten myself out. Do you ever feel like this?

Oh I take it back I have gotten great pleasure at decorating my house and I think it looks awesome.  When my husband was alive it was all done however he liked it so I never knew what a talent I had until now.

It doesn't matter how you do it if you like it. It is your house.  I arrange and decorate my house the way I like.  If somebody else doesn't like it then they don't have to look at it.

I'm sorry to hear that you lack motivation debidoo. I'm glad that you feel somewhat better in your now not so hidden talent of decorating. That can help keep your mind up. Don't give up! I too am disabled and struggle at times to get thru life. It's not easy, but I try to keep a positive mindset as best I can and surround myself with motivators each day. My mother is very helpful to me as well so that's a huge plus. You might want to consider therapy to help you if you can get it (This was very helpful to me with keeping my mind up) and try to do things to keep yourself upbeat. Find something you can do each day or each week that will keep you happy and that might help.

Oh how I would love to decorate my house to the  way I want it. But I can't seem to get  the old man motivated into  doing a lot of  stuff that has to be done firs.  And I  can not  get him to get rid of his  loved  couch. I hate that darn thing.  It takes up so much room.  I want a couple of   recliners and aa couple of wicker easy chairs o sit in with a glass top table .  And lots of plants so I can have a couple more birds.  Loved  letting them loose to play in my plants. Oh well person can dream.

I try to make a chore list and do one thing off the list each day to keep myself busy, I think the longer you sit the more tired you get.

One thing that lifts me up and gets me going is to do something nice for someone else.  It doesn't have to be a big grand gesture, just show someone you care.

If you don't have kids or grandkids, red wine works too. LoL

It's taken me a long long long time to understand and apply my talents do honor God.  He's the one that's letting me use all this stuff while I'm here anyway.  There have been times in my life when I woe is me'd.  And I wasn't disabled.  That's got to be difficult and lonely.  Is there a church that you are a part of?  An organization that can pick you up and take you out to do things like play cards, sit at the park and have a lemonade or to the library to flip through decorating magazines to get ideas.

It can be really hard to have motivation. Some days I just don't want to do anything. But that's completely normal and it's okay to have days like that. I just try not to stay in that mindset too long because I know it doesn't do me any good.

Make a list o things you would like to do, try to get out of the house or have friends or family over.  Do not just sit around thinking that you have no motivation..do something at least one thing a day different, and treat yourself for doing it,

I find that making lists help me. It doesn't overwhelm me as much if I can check-off things that I've done.

For example, today I had written down "writing forum posts" and laundry. It doesn't sound like a lot, but I feel accomplished if I get those two things done (obviously I'm doing at least one  :P) and maybe start on other things.
