I know enough to do what I need to do on the computer.  I probably need to know more, but at my age if I can do what I need to do that's enough for me.  My ex-boyfriend can work on computers and he was an IT person.

I describe myself as someone who knows enough to be dangerous but not actually know what I am doing. I figure out computer programs, websites and apps pretty easily, but have a problem when troubleshooting requires more than a restart.

That is a good way to describe the guy I was helping. lol.

He knows enough to be dangerous.  He clicks randomly and does random stuff and then gets mad when his computer is messed up and gets even more mad when somebody cannot just fix it.

Computers are my passion. I grew up around them and I am not afraid of them.
They keep changing all the time as new technologies are introduced. Office equipment
evolves. You just have to adapt to the new changes.

I'm confused when it comes to computers. I don't know when the computers fault or mine.

I used to know a lot and fixed my own when problems arose. i even rebuilt a few but if I tell you how long ago that was, you'd laugh. When I started my own business, I didn't have the time to keep up. I'm now a beginner in computer savy.  I'm trying to learn Windows 10 after using XP for years (loved it). I could take a course but they want $50 to teach the basics. My old reliable computer is now dying after 16 years. The CD/RW wnet and my hard drive sounds a wee noisy and very slow. I guess I should just break loose and get a new computer but I don't know how to transfer the data and programs from my old one. My laptop was set up by my cousin's son in his store, rocked me a fortune for a very small hard drive and free word program but I love my old MS-Word, too. This laptop still doesn't work right. There's a gremlin in it but I won't take it back to fix and I love desktop computers anyway. .

Windows 10 is different but it is not hard to learn. Do not pay somebody to teach you how to use it.  There are helps and you can google anything you want to know and find it out for free.

I know some a little more than just the basics but I have a major problem I turn to our IT department and they are very willing to help even when it is a personal computer problem.
