Do you get tired in early afternoon?
« on: June 01, 2019, 12:00:25 pm »
Some days I feel like I am worn out especially around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. I only drink 2 cups of coffee a day and I take one vitamin D pill a day. Do you ever feel tired and what do you do for it?

When I worked I did get that mid afternoon slump.  Now that I'm retired it doesn't happen anymore.   When I was working and I would feel it coming on I would get up and walk away from my desk, a brisk walk down the hallway usually helped.  I would snack on nuts (almonds were my favorite) and a small piece of cheese.  Go to the restroom and splash cool water on my face and maybe do a few stretches in the bathroom.  You can google "mid afternoon sleepiness" and get some great tips.

I'm tired all the time. Exercise kind of helps, but caffeine helps.

Nope.  Try b vitamins as well.  Supposed to give you energy.

I get up around 7;30 every morning and by 1 pm I am worn out. I go lay down and read or watch TV most evenings

I get up at 4 am everyday. By around Lunch, I am so tired that I can not even think. I sometimes take a nap, but most of the time I just sweat it out because if I take naps then I usually can not sleep at night at all. I will say that I will go to bed at 8 pm and fall fast asleep and sleep all night long.

I try to take a nap in the afternoon and this refreshes me for the rest of the evening.

I work a desk job and yes I tend to crash in the afternoon although not every day. It's not always just feeling tired, sometimes I get a gross queasy feeling from it too.

I do tend to feel like I crash around afternoon time. Coffee sometimes helps.

I have sleep apnea so I struggled a lot with feeling tired during the day. When I was diagnosed I started using my cpap machine nightly and that improved how I felt quite a bit. If you struggle with tiredness during the day, snoring, or stop breathing in your sleep you might want to try and see if a sleep study could show if you have sleep apnea which is not only tiring, but dangerous since when you stop breathing during sleep it could be deadly. Vitamin D is good and you can also get natural vitamin D from the sun. Since it's warmer out now maybe spending some time in the sun would help to increase your levels.

Yes I do because I haven't been sleeping well lately (getting up way too early) Mid afternoon, I'm ready for a nap! :)

I get up at 5am most times and by 2pm when my soap GH is on I miss some if it because I doze off UGH. Thank God my brother orders it without commercials so I can see it the next day and then doze again for that 2 pm showing lol
