Being sick - which is worse?
« on: May 24, 2019, 07:35:40 am »
Which of these unproductive body reflexes is worse?

Continued dry heaves when you have nothing remaining in your stomach to expel or a persistent violent & unproductive cough that makes your head & throat hurt and your eyes water to the point of tears?

I vote for the cough - not only because I am living through it now myself (although I'm sure that is a big factor) but because it can go on for days, whereas the dry heaves for me usually only last a few hours or less.
 :sad1: :confused1:

I also say it's the cough. you can cough so hard it feels like dry heaves.

I'm finally starting to get over the cold I've had for 2 weeks now. I haven't had a cold in several years. This one has been terrible. The coughing is the worst part - coughing so hard my nose started bleeding.

I hope you feel better!

I hate the dry heaves. All that straining can make you sore for days.

Dry heaves since I use Vicks on my feet arches to stop coughing  :)

I hate both, but just because the cough lasts longer I will go with that.  Hope you all get well soon.  The coughs are suppose to be worse this year because of all of the extra from rain pollen in the air.

I haven't really had either in a while but would probably lean toward dry heaves as worse

Definitely the coughing.

I hate getting sick anymore - it feels like it lasts weeks.

Not that I ever liked getting sick. Lol. Just usually never lasted but a few days!

Oof, I really hate both. Throwing up is pretty much my most hated thing, but I might have to choose the cough, if only because it can actually sort of trigger the dry heaves. That always seems to happen in the middle of the night - waking up with an annoying tickling cough that you can't seem to reach and it leaves you gagging.

I will say coughing because I do not like coughing at all.

Coughing hurts to the most. When I cough, it hurts my throat sometimes.
