Multiple Streams of Income
« on: October 10, 2009, 08:32:45 am »
Most people only have one job and depend on that one job for their livelihood.  What happens if something happens to that one job?  A lot of people unfortunately are in that situation now and have come to a rude awakening.  Years ago I read the book Multiple Streams of Income by Robert Allen.  Some of you may be familiar with this.

Although I don't agree with every thing he says and how he just loves to push products, I do believe the only way to survive these hard economic times and to become financially stable is through multiple streams of income (preferably residual income).  I addition to my regular full time job my other income streams are doing GPT sites, affiliate marketing, survey sites.  I had some online teaching things lined up but have not had the time to do them.

I hope to open a drop shipping website and Etsy site by the end of the year so that will be another income stream.  I also do flea markets and yard sales for extra money occasionally.  I recently lost one of my biggest online income streams so I am looking to replace it.

What are your multiple income streams?  It could be investments, side jobs, an online business.  Whatever it is I hope you realize how important it is to have multiple streams of income.

That sounds really cool.  I wish I were a dog sometimes.  Man they have the life, especially a rich woman's lap dog.

With the last job I had I didn't have the time or the effort to even think about having a 2nd job.. My hours ranged from 7am to 2:30am and changed whenever the floor manager changed her underwear.. But I always try to keep a plan B so if something happened I had a back up job and or plan.. It was also very fun living without internet or cable for 3 years lol
