the orange juice! My wife stopped at the grocery store (about a mile from our house) got home, we put the groceries away, got comfortable and I settled in to uploading my receipt into several sites. I happened to notice that she had paid three dollars for orange juice but I did not recall putting that item away. I asked her about it and she was like "Oh goodness, I must have left it in the shopping cart!". She called the grocery store and while waiting on hold, got dressed in her out side clothes, hopped in the car, drove back to the grocery store and found the orange juice sitting in the cart where she had left it. How many people would do this? I thought it was crazy because she makes over seventy dollars an hour at her job. That means that the forty five minutes spent retrieving the three dollar item ended up costing over forty dollars. Perhaps it will make her more cognizant of fully emptying out the cart in the future?

How could it cost $40 to drive back to the store and get the orange juice that you paid $3 for?  Even if it was a 45 minute trip.  If I lived an hour from the store no I probably would not drive back for a $3 item.

I am also curious why someone who makes $70 an hour would spend time on a PTC site making a few pennies here and there.

"I am also curious why someone who makes $70 an hour would spend time on a PTC site making a few pennies here and there." I would also be curious as to why someone making seventy dollars an hour would spend time making pennies if I had not taken the time to read a post that I was responding to (LOL). I reread the original post and was unable to locate any statement related to my wife spending time on a PTC site. She is way too busy to worry about pennies (would never do PTC's) which is why I was surprised that she wasted three quarters of an hour ($70 x .75) retrieving a $3 liter of orange juice. The drive, round trip was less than 15 minutes, but prep, phone call, search time (and getting resettled) were factored into the 45 minutes shot. I also make a considerably, higher than average income and most people would question why I spend time making pennies. I am able to make these pennies during down time (usually between night time file downloads). I reinvest the proceeds from many, seemingly nonsensical sources, as I have done for coming up on ten years. This is my hobby.

I also do this as sort of a hobby (I like collecting money LOL).   But I don't think I would've gone back for the $3 OJ.
One time I paid for gas at the station, got to talking to a friend and then got in my car and drove off....forgot all about pumping the gas. LOL  I didn't notice until I was out of town.

Hmmm. Uploading receipts to several sites?  The only one I knew about was Nielson. I was a member when you received a scanner from them and scanned your receipt into their scanner, but I wound up never being able to do it because of my hospitaions and later therapy. It was almost 5 months before I was able to it and by that time, they asked for the equipment back and closed my account. I've been trying to sign up ever since then but no go. Sad now that hubby and sometimes me, go to the store at least once a month, but usually more than that.

I would have gone back for it. But I'm about 3 minutes from the grocery store.

I'm super surprised it was still there! I personally wouldn't have drove back to get it cause it would have cost more in gas/time than it was worth. If it was something else, maybe...but not a $3 Orange juice.
