Mary didn't recognize Him at first for a number normal reasons. She had been facing the tomb when Jesus came behind her. She was crying and couldn't see Him clearly against the sunrise. Once Jesus actually summons her complete attention, He didn't have to explain "No Mary, it's actually me- Jesus!" She turned and focused on Him, recognizing Him instantly. Doesn't that make more sense than a sci-fi tale of His body 'vanishing' only for Him to go back to a wardrobe of 'body suits' that He can put on anytime He wants? Wake up. The JW position on the Resurrection makes no sense.

The dead don't know what is going on among the living. Solomon was speaking of how Great Men's lives mean nothing on earth after their time has past. They got adulation in life, not necessarily in death. (it could be punishment)

Jesus speaking symbolic is found in things like I posted "If your hand sins, cut it off.." But when He makes a point several dozen times that there will be punishment in Hell, I think that's something worth paying attention to-
Matt:13 47-51

Again, Sola Scriptura. Your JW interpretations are not worth the paper they are printed on. As I already said, Christ is not a created being. He has been proven to be co- equal & Co- Eternal with the Father. Adding the term 'other' is a typical JW trap, when it's not there in the unaltered scriptures.

If Christians are persecuted for the sake of Jehovah's name, why did Christ tell the first Christians that they would be persecuted for the sake of his (Jesus') name instead of Jehovah's?

Doesn't this prove Jesus equal with Jehovah and that we are to be called by His Holy Son's name?
