Brush your teeth
« on: February 05, 2019, 12:08:30 pm »
Especially between meals because besides being good for you, it helps you not to snack between meals. Mouthwash helps too.

So you can have great breath, fresh teeth and a skinny body all at the same time.  ;) Life is so good.

Don't forget flossing! I carry floss with me in my bag so I can floss between meals.

Yeah, I don't care and I think I will tell my dentist that the next time I see him. Imma not gonna floss so save your time and stop lecturing me. lol  I brush my teeth and that is good enough. My teeth are healthy so obviously it isn't a problem lol.

I was a practicing dental hygienist for thirty years.  Did you know that you can wear down the enamel of your teeth by brushing back and forth too vigorously at the gumline?  I saw so many cases of this, people who were conscientious about keeping their teeth sparkling clean, but simply brushing too hard and in the wrong direction.  Wearing down the enamel with your toothbrush can make teeth super sensitive!

Tooth and gum health are so very important.  You don't realize how important your teeth are until you start having problems.  What is problematic is that you can faithfully brush, floss, and visit your dentist and still have bad periodontal disease.  As soon as your hygienist or dentist mention you have the beginning of periodontal disease, visit your dentist even more often than usual and follow their instructions. Spend the money now rather than much more later or even losing your teeth!

Does using a soft bristled brush help with prevention of wearing down the enamel of your teeth at the gumline?
I haven't been told I have any issues.....yet....but I have wondered about the long term effects on my gum line simply by brushing my teeth.

I brush in the morning, never after lunch (I’m at work), usually after dinner, before bed always.

Sounds like my routine. ;D  I also keep a mini travel toothbrush in my purse just in case I get food stuck between my teeth
