I don't know anything about 23 and me, but I did an ancestry.com DNA test years ago. It was before they started selling them. I got mine for free as a "beta" test. It was pretty vague information at first. But as more people do the tests, the more my information shifts. My results used to be more southern European, which I always knew was inaccurate. But now, it has shifted north into Germanic and Eastern Europe, possibly Norway and Russia, which is more plausible. Did I learn anything new? Not really. But it's fun to see when they make updates what has changed, and you can find a ton of cousins and other distant relatives with similar DNA.
