I know everyone loves their air fryers, and I would love to buy one for myself this Christmas but then I read this and now I'm stuck between safe and unsafe to own:

Name of Product:
Magic Chef Air Fryers

Hazard:
The air fryer can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards.

Remedy:
Refund

Recall Date:
October 13, 2022

Units:
About 11,750

Consumer Contact

Newair toll-free at 833-715-1021 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. PT Monday through Friday https://www.newair.com/pages/newair-magic-chef-digital-air-fryer-recall or  https://www.newair.com/pages/recall-registration for online registration.

Recall Details

Description:

This recall involves the Magic Chef Air Fryer Digital Air Fryer oven with model numbers MCAF56DB (black) and MCAF56DW (white). Magic Chef is printed on the top of the fryers and the rating label on the bottom has the brand name Magic Chef along with the model number. The air fryers measure about 13 inches by 15 inches by 14 inches.

Remedy:

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled air fryers and provide a picture of the rating label to the firm to receive instructions to disable the air fryer and receive a refund in the form of a newair.com credit. The credit amount will be $50 or the amount on the purchase receipt if higher. No receipt is needed to get the $50 credit. Consumers can also register to participate in the recall at https://www.newair.com/pages/recall-registration.

I have been looking at getting a bigger air fryer.  I had a small one that I sent with my grandson to college.  He loves it and uses it daily.  Now I'm worried.

Due diligence!  "Emeril Lagasse's"  is a safe option, no recalls or complaints.  Expensive, but with the fire hazard and recalls I think it's worth spending the money up front.

Pepsico recalls some Starbucks vanilla frappuccino drinks in U.S.

Pepsico Inc recalled more than 25,000 cases of Starbucks chilled coffee drink nationwide after glass was found in some of the bottles, the U.S. Food and Drug administration said in a notice.

The voluntary recall, which was initiated on Jan. 28, covers more than 300,000 bottles of the Starbucks frappuccino vanilla chilled coffee drink, the FDA said.

The FDA classified this as a Class 2 recall, which means the "product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote", according the agency's website.

Distributed nationwide by PepsiCo, the bottles with the following expiration dates have been affected, according to the notice:

Mar. 8th

May 29th

Jun. 4th and 10th

Pepsico did not immediately respond to a request for comment on a Saturday.

Duplicate post from today:

The issue is due to a wire connection in the air fryers, which can overheat, posing a fire hazard, CPSC said.

Cosori has received 205 reports of the air fryers catching fire, burning, melting, overheating and smoking.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/two-million-air-fryers-recalled-over-burn-hazard/ar-AA17T3Ca?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=720af5261cad47ddbfee32346fa2419d

2 million air fryers made by Cosori, sold between 2018 and 2022, are being voluntarily recalled after an internal investigation reve   ale  an electrical malfunction may pose serious safety risks.

Cosori asked customers to immediately stop using the air fryer and go to recall.cosori.com to request for a replacement of their choice. Customers must send a photo of the recalled product but do not need a receipt to be eligible.

https://www.cdc.gov/hai/outbreaks/CRPA-artificial-tears.html

Current Update
As of February 21, 2023, CDC, in partnership with state and local health departments, identified 58 patients in 13 states (CA, CO, CT, FL, IL, NJ, NM, NY, NV, TX, UT, WA, WI) with VIM-GES-CRPA, a rare strain of extensively drug-resistant P. aeruginosa. Thirty-five patients were linked to four healthcare facility clusters. One person has died and there have been 5 reports of vision loss. Dates of specimen collection were from May 2022 to January 2023. Isolates have been identified from clinical cultures of sputum or bronchial wash (13), cornea (12), urine (9), other nonsterile sources (4), and blood (2), and from rectal swabs (25) collected for surveillance; some patients had specimens collected from more than one anatomic site.

Most patients reported using artificial tears. Patients reported over 10 different brands of artificial tears and some patients used multiple brands. EzriCare Artificial Tears, a preservative-free, over-the-counter product packaged in multidose bottles, was the brand most commonly reported. This was the only common artificial tears product identified across the four healthcare facility clusters
