Good for you! That is a great job.  You can try some of your favoite receipes but make some changes to them....reduce flour and substitue cornstarch for thickening sauces.  Use a non stick spray instead of butter or oil.  Use more veggies (garlic - just a little makes many low fat meals taste better without upping the salt)  Also, one that helped me was....drink water when I feel hungry and always shoot a glass before I sit down to a meal.

Use a smaller plate, take a deep breath before you begin to eat, eat sitting down, put down the utensil between bites and chew slowly. Enjoy your meal, stop when you hit that just full feeling. Do that and write down what you eat each day.

I too am trying to conquer the same battle but I have diabetes, high cholesterol, and many problems with my stomach including reflux (and possibly an ulcer) so with all of the limitations of all of these different things some of them almost conflict each other.  Like diabetics are not supposed to have many carbs but people with stomach troubles have to eat bland foods which is mostly carbs, and some days all I can eat is a few crackers all day long which is terrible for my diabetes since I'm supposed to stay away from them and supposed to eat small frequent meals, and sometimes can't eat at all, which is awful for losing weight because it slows your metabolism.  I am stuck floating between 220 and 225 until the doctors can figure out this stomach stuff I guess.  I wish all of you luck in your journeys to your weight loss goal mine is 165 to 170 but it will have to wait for now.

since the 1960's we have controlled our weight by counting calories and weighing in each morning - to keep our weight at our ideal we have 900 calories per day - we arrived at this by first 2 weeks eating what ever we wanted - counted the calories each day - next 2 weeks we reduced the daily calories by 50 - 2 weeks later we reduced the calories by 50 more - this we continued until our early morning weight began to decrease - we are able to control our weight just by counting calories - we have what ever we want but the daily calories must stay within range - when we travel - we do not worry so much about the calories although we tend to watch how much we eat - never more than 3 ozs of any protein - any fruit we want - any sweets - any vegs - when we return home again we weigh ourselves and restart the process - recently we were in New York City - ate very well - gained over 7 lbs - when we returned home it took 7 months to get back to our ideal weight - but this was done slowly with no sense of  anxiety or concern - we knew we would slowly return to our ideal weight - we take no meds only vitamin supplements which we have been taking since the 1960's - no aches - no pains - have dessert every night - eat 3 main meals and 2 snacks each day - hope this helps - by the way we have 8 - 8 ozs of water each day - Health, Happiness, Peace, and Positive Perspective - IMHO >> In My Humble Opinion - The MUSEUM, Zazzle

There are lots of great healthy (and WW related) recipes on 3fatchicks.com.  I know the name sounds terrible but it's a great site!

i have been trying to lose weight myself but it is very hard for me to do because i have Polycystic Ovrian Syndrome( PCOS for short). i really need to loose the weight because it is preventing me from getting preganant which me and my husband having been trying to do for the past 5 years. so far i have lost 18 lbs. i have gone from 282lbs down to 264lbs.  if anybody has some tips , i would greatly appericate it. Gookd luck!!   ;D

Congratulations!  I would recommend eating stuff with jasmine rice!  Whether it's bacon, egg, steak, chicken, ribs etc. I would eat it with a bowl of rice.  Instead of eating 3 or 4 pieces of chicken/steak/pork you would eat one or two pieces of chicken and rice, same fullness, but less of the fatty foods.  Look into Vietnamese food.  I eat tons and still manage a thin/average physique.  Good luck!
