Presidential nominees from bankrupt states
« on: January 27, 2019, 08:40:58 am »
Why would anyone vote for a president from a state that overspends and has no job growth.  California's debt is so high that we would have to pay someone to take it.  All there jobs are leaving and they keep going higher with taxes.  Instead of making these states better for businesses they pass laws about straws.  Let them sink.

Funny, California has the 8th highest economy in the world, many states could not have even a portion of the programs they do if it was not for the tax base provided to the federal government by California.

Funny, California has the 8th highest economy in the world, many states could not have even a portion of the programs they do if it was not for the tax base provided to the federal government by California.

A lot of their economic revenue is from Hollywood and the big stars which does nothing for the regular folks who happen to live in the state.  I have seen where people have posted in various places online who state they live in California and are looking to get out of the state.  Or say they wish they could move.

It is kind of like Walmart where they say the average employee makes $20 something an hour.  NO THEY DON'T.
The numbers are fabricated but people are too stupid to see it.  They take ALL the employees and then average the salary.  It is like our local Walmart back when they were still paying most starting at $7.25 which is the Federal Min Wage.  They add those together and also add all the managers including the store manager who makes well over $100,000 a year.  You can not take all the employees and "average" the pay and say that is what most make because that is no where close to correct.

So yes, California may have what looks like a booming economy but you have a lot of people who are homeless and starving because it is like every where else it is not that easy to get an entry level job. The competition is fierce.

When I went on vacation to Washington state I saw so many more homeless than I've ever seen in California. There were many streets that we couldn't walk on because of the homeless camped out on the corners, and store doorways.

Homelessness is a big problem in the U.S. but it's not only a California problem.

I've always voted for someone I believed could run the country in at least a half-way decent way.  I never took race, religion, or where they were from into consideration.  The thing now is there are so many coming out of the woodwork to run, especially with the Government ShutDown, that too many are from bankrupt states to figure on one that isn't.

The government is not shut down. Catch up.

And that doesn't have anything to do with it.  It is close to time for people to start coming forward wanting to run.  The election is the end of next year.  It was the same way with the last election. There were a ton running for each party.  I will admit they are going crazy on the democrat side.  Heck what is it 20 so far. lol

These people do not care about you or me.  They do not care about the country or the AMERICAN PEOPLE. It is a power thing.  That is what they care about.  And the big pay.  I am sure the pay goes up every year (cost of living lol).  A couple years ago the salary for a US President was $450,000 a year.  And they get that FOR LIFE.

Heck, maybe I will run for president. lol

And our current President filed bankruptcy himself how many times??  Instead of where they come from I am more concern about the persons demeanor.  I want a President who cares about all Americans and try to make a better place for all(even those who didn't vote for them) not the 30% base and their extreme views.

I was not a fan of GW Bush but his intentions were good and they were for all.  Same with Obama he was trying for everyone even though he had to deal with McConnell trying to foul every step regardless.  There was no gain for these men in there actions (though D Cheney is another story)

Hmm someone pretending they know something about my state when they have no clue. For starters Hollywood nor do the stars bring in much at all in taxes. Most movies are not done in hollywood anymore and that doesn't bring in tax money if there not done here. Stars on the other hand bring in a good sum but over all are just a scratch of what tax revenue comes from even comes from them compared to everyone. Most tax revenue comes from people who actually own businesses and normal folk then stars and hollywood. Seriously check facts before you talk about something in which you do not know of it makes things far more less awkward. Also, it does not matter what state a nominee comes from really because most likely the state was bankrupt before they even went into office in that state ran for in whatever position they went for

Look how many times tRUMP has filed for bankruptcy and, somehow, he got elected.  I wonder how many people got cheated out of their money when he filed bankruptcy??
Have a wonderful day!

Funny, California has the 8th highest economy in the world, many states could not have even a portion of the programs they do if it was not for the tax base provided to the federal government by California.

The 8th highest economy in the world & yet the government is about $476 BILLION in debt.. they had to use the first gas tax that was to go for road infrastructure to pay off the government pensions, they're solution was to add a second gas tax to now fix the roads.  Another $1 Trillion worth of pensions are coming due with no way to pay them.  California is on the verge of bankruptcy, they keep taxing & spending.  Less than 6000 people pay over 80% of the tax revenue in California.  1/3 of all people receive government welfare -- which shows up as a positive on the GDP for California... yes, they count government assistance money when they figure the "highest economy" in the world -- how is that positive for the economy.   Los Angeles has more homeless than any place in the USA -- 58,000 a night are left on the streets due to a shortage of beds.  There are an average of 42 students for one teacher in LAUSD..   Such a great economy.... they are taxing the middle class completely out of being able to live here, there is going to be really rich & the poor similar to the Mexico.

California receives back about 80 cents for every dollar it sends back to the Federal government... with all the fires and emergency relief California has been getting from the Federal government these past several years, California isn't giving funding to any other state.  PG&E the electrical company here just declared bankruptcy because they are billions of dollars in debt & on the hook for over 100 deaths -- & who is going to bail them out & pay to upgrade all their electrical?... the California taxpayers thanks to a bill signed by Gov Brown.  California can't even fund their own programs, let alone all the rest of the country's.

Trump has over 500 business & declared bankruptcy 5x.. that's about a 99% success rate.  All 5 were Casinos in New Jersey & I believe all were restructured & put back in business & sold.  So unless you think America is ran like a Casino on a boardwalk overcome by a hurricane... there is no comparison.
