Something here and I have probably what is considered a low immune system or health (heart) issues that could put me at worse jeopardy - I am a hermit primarily but I do have my groceries delivered.  Last night I went to a meeting for the Homeowners Association in my community and several households being extremely sick were mentioned.  So I don't know but I don't want it whatever it is

I would never purchase property where they have a home owners association. (Of course that is off topic lol)  I own my property and as long as I obey the laws of the county nobody needs to tell me what I need to do.

Well I have had a flu shot and I have to wash my hands a lot plus using  hand sanitizer an awful lot. I deal with a lot of people all day. At  the  Ministry and there is a lot of them that can't afford to go to the doctors and I sometimes wonder if the don't understand how important it is to stay home when sick or maybe they just don't  care.  But I keep  big jugs  at  my area for everyone to use when they come if  they choose.  And a lot of them use it  too.

Most people do not care.  It is like if you go to Walmart and see people who are sick and coughing all over the place and most do not cover their mouth.  They do not care.  And NO they do NOT have to be there.  People are self centered and do not give a rat's behind about anyone other than what THEY want to do.
I do not like what our world has become.

I was at Weiss Grocery yesterday and was checking out.  The cashier was probably in her 50's.  I wasn't paying attention to her until my groceries were on the belt.  I looked at her after watching her coughing like crazy into her hand, and her eyes were watering bad.  I looked at her and she just said it's so dry in here.  Yeah my butt!  I would have never gone to her line if I noticed before  but it was too late.  I put hand sanitizer on immediately and washed my hands when I got home.  So nice she coughs into her hand then hands you money back.

See I can see this from both sides.  No I would not go thru her line because no it isn't DRY in there - she is sick.

Money is nasty no matter if she coughs on her hands then touches it or not. But at the same time - I have not only worked retail but fast food as well.  And I went to work sick because I had no other choice.  When you have to have a job and are told you either come to work or you need a doctor excuse you go to work sick.

I personally with NO insurance can not afford to run to the doctor because I have a cold.  And usually a cold can last 10-14 days.  You are not going to get a doc excuse for 2 weeks for a cold and you most likely cannot afford to take off work that long.  Then you go back to most retail jobs and fast food jobs are part time so the people working them need every hour they can get.

But then I go back to the thoughts of where does this come from? The weather does not make you sick. So if the people who are sick would stay home and not get it out spreading it every where it would not get so bad  I recently worked on a  seasonal job, which thankfully has ended, and I was sick for 7 weeks.  Everyone there was sick and basically you could not get rid of it.  A lot of people missed a few days here and there but mostly people went in to work sick.

Like I said, I have "heard" chatter that the flu is suppose to be really bad in my area right now but I don't really know first hand or anyone who has it.

No, I just enjoy my life as always and I seldom get sick.

               I'm not sure if washing your hands is enough to keep from getting sick. Everybody's different, either your body isn't immune to enough flu like illnesses or your body is immune. The best solution is to avoid the sick as much as you possibly can.

I go to shop and if I'm around other people, I come home, wash my face, and thoroughly wash my hands.

While I understand people do go to work sick, I refuse to let germaphobia get the better of me.  I regularly get a flu shot because I suffer with bad allergies and my doctor doesn't want a simple allergy infection to turn into pneumonia.  I'm allergic (among other things) to mold which is year-round and everywhere and I can't lock myself in a box so no.  I am not afraid to go out and eat in restaurants.  As far as I know restaurants use dishwashers, especially sit-down and eat ones.  I can't vouch for fast-food places like McDonald's but to be honest I think you're more likely to get the flu or sick from places like that than a regular restaurant.  They just have stricter rules when it comes to sanitation than fast-food places.

McDonald's does not have dishwashers.  Not sure what dishwashers have to do with anything.  If the person handling your food is sick that is where you can get sick. Not because a dish was not washed in hot enough water.  And they do not have stricter sanitation rules.  Food places all have to go by the same rules.

It is not locking yourself in a box by avoiding eating out or even Walmart during times when a ton of people have the flu.  It has actually become an epidemic in some places.  If people who are sick refuse to stay at home then I can remove myself from the equation and stay at home. 

If you have a weaker immune system it is also a good idea to stay home since like I said people who are sick won't.  They have the same attitude. I am not going to stay home.  They don't care if they make someone else sick.  I have seen several people lately with a mask on in town.  Not because they are sick but to protect themselves.
