Pranks
« on: January 21, 2019, 09:40:39 am »
We have all had our fair share of playing a prank or two.. or maybe even fallen victim to a couple here and there but how far is to far when it comes to a prank?? Is there a limit?? Do you find humor in all types of pranks? Is there an age where there is no humour in them anymore??

Not sure about you guys but my brother growing up and still to this day is a prankster.. Not sure i  find all of his jokes anymore to funny but then again i guess i just expect it.. and the joke becomes less amusing.. Even if it happens to someone other than me.. I literally just roll my eyes and move on with my day..

what about you guys?? what are your thoughts and opinions on pranks??

I am not big on "pranks".  And no I don't pull pranks on people.  Don't recall right off if I have been the victim of any.  Probably have.  Yes there is a limit.  People go too far with their jokes. And usually the one pulling the joke would get mad if somebody done the same thing to them.

I am not sure what you consider a "prank" but years ago I worked in a restaurant and we could have all the soda we wanted. And some of my co-workers liked to put stuff in my drink.  Stuff like that is not funny.  Neither are most of the other "jokes" people do to others.

I use to know a guy who was always pulling stuff on others but if you done any little thing to him he would get mad.

I do think there should be a limit. A prank is taken too far if it causes someone to feel a lot of pain or get sick.

My extended family has a standing prank that usually is played on the prospective new comer to the family.

The prospective new comer gets "measured for a coffin".  Long story short, water ends up running down the newcomer's leg and everyone laughs.

It is harmless, although I find it quite stupid.

I don't like pranks and I don't like practical jokes. That being said, there was a television program that used to be on. I cannot remember the name of it but they played funny stuff on people. Everone got a big kick out of it and it seemed harmless fun. I was okay with that.

Don't know what the difference would be except that all the people seemed amused, so to me that made it all right. Whatever.  :confused1:

I think I remember what you are talking about. I doubt EVERYONE got a big kick out of it.  I often wondered how many they could not show because the person reacted badly.  Kind of like the new one not too long ago where they had people walking up and eating french fries off someone else's tray.  I would not react to that well at all. Most of the ones they showed they person reacted well.  I wonder if it was an act and they knew what was going to happen or if they done it 2000 times to get someone to not smack the holy snot out of some stranger.

I think your talking about impractical jokers... That show is okay.. To a point.. but yeah there are alot of times i wonder what the hell the producers are thinking because some of the things they do.. can literally get them into some sticky situations.. I know half of those things i wouldn't react good to at all

I don't like pranks.  I like to be able to take people at face value and if they are always trying to pull pranks, it is hard to do that.
Have a wonderful day!

I think it is always a limit to pranks, I don't like them so I never partake in them

I have never liked pranks or practical jokes.  Even as a kid I just thought that they were wrong.

More so today, with the way people are, I believe that pranks could be very dangerous.

Last week I saw a video of a prank played on a high school basketball player.  He and his teammates were in their locker room when a police officer walked in.  He called the student to come forward.  The officer then proceeded to seemingly read him his rights for a crime he never committed.

The paper he was reading from was actually a scholarship to attend a university.

This prank was played on a couple of different occasions.  Was that harmless fun?  That depends on who you ask.  All I know is that if it were me and I had my heart racing and blood pressure going through the roof, even for those 30 seconds, I would not appreciate that at all.

No pranks are humorous, they hurt unsuspecting people.

I'm not a prankster.  I don't find it particularly entertaining to laugh at someone else's expense...or mine.
