I have not gotten my eyes check in years but I might go if I feel like my glasses are not working.

I have vision coverage through my health insurance, so I usually end up going every year. I also have glasses, so my vision kinda needs a look at. However, my prescription has stabilized over the last half decade, so I might stop going as frequently, just to save time.

I went to the eye Dr just a few days ago. It's really important to go. The only thing I dread is the dilation of the eyes and the numbing eye drops.

You do not have to let them dilate your eyes.  Although I do not see why people complain about it.  They did not numb my eyes to dilate them.  It doesn't hurt.  And the last time I went they dilated both eyes and I went out after the appointment and drove home.  Not a big deal.

For the condition that I have, they have to dilate to look in the back of both eyes. It bothers me and stings but after that I'm good. Before driving home I have to wear dark shades they have or my own sunglasses to see well. My vision is often blurry still afterwards. I'm thinking some people don't have to be dilated, while others do.

I haven't been there for 6 years. I can't afford the lenses. Last time, they cost almost $500. Can't afford it. Yet I'm diabetic and should at least get the exam done but I know my eyes are worse because my vision is blurry at times  and I can't see clearly to read, even the TV guide on the 40" TV from 6 feet away. I have had astigmatism in one eye since I was 8 and now I have it in both eyes, plus a cataract in the right eye (which doc never suggests having it removed) plus near-sighted. Can I have anything else go wrong with them? Certainly!

I go every year to an ophthalmologist and get the works. My insurance is pretty good.  :rainbow:

I went a long period without going to the eye doctor and finally had to go because I knew I needed new glasses.  My plan now is to go if not every year at least every two years.

About every 2 or 3 years. I just had an eye exam last January and I got new glasses. My long term eye doctor moved too Oregon so I went too Lenses Crafter's.
