Christmas decorations
« on: January 08, 2019, 03:59:24 am »
Have you put your decorations back in the closet for awhile? I still have some christmas stockings and cards out that I have not put away yet. The holidays went so fast. I enjoyed being off for 4 days.

All of my Christmas items are put away except for the odds & ends I keep finding.
Have a wonderful day!

All my decorations are away.  We always take everything down New Years Day.  If it's a warm day before, then my husband will take down the outside lights.

I usually put away my Christmas decorations the day after new years.  I didn't have all that many because I live in a kinda small space.

Yes I have taken down all my Christmas decorations. I miss them though. They make everything so cheerful during the holiday season.

Yes mine have been down for a week now, its always a bit sad when you put them all away. And why does it always take less time to put them away then put them up lol

We finally took the ornaments and lights off the tree on Sunday.  The tree is still up because my son-in-law has to take the tree out.

Well I think.  A couple days ago I found or saw something I had missed when I put the stuff up.

I begin the decoration removal process tomorrow... today is the last day to enjoy the Christmas decorations in my house. I like to wait until after the Epiphany on January 6th before removing the decorations.  The Tree will stay up until Thursday.

Our neighborhood requires that all Holiday decorations be taken down by the eleventh of January (kind of an arbitrary date). We had exceptionally nice weather onn Sunday so I took the inside trees out to the curb and spent about five hours taking down lights from three trees in the front and two layers of gutters on the house. My wife took all of the ornaments off the inside trees on Saturday and I was in charge of double checking before getting rid of the trees. It was a good thing because I ended up finding another three ornaments that had some sentimental value for the kids. We gave the kids some nuts/bolts with a hidden compartment that we stuffed cash into. I managed to find one of those. I found an ornament with a hidden compartment for next years Christmas cash/stash presents.

I assume you have a home owners association?  I would never buy a house where they had something like that.  It is my house so nobody is going to tell me what I can and cannot do on the property.  I guess it can in some ways be a good thing.  But like mowing the yard, I remember a long time ago I had surgery and was not working and didn't have the money to pay someone to mow the yard.  The yard ended up getting quite tall. But from what I understand most associations do not care the whys.
