A lot of areas do not do straws anymore.  Not her fault.  SOme places even if you ask they are not available.

Yeah I saw it.  He's the one who needs to be fired.  Who does that?  He should have never put his hands on her.

You cannot fire a customer.  No, he should not be fired from his job for actions he took when he was not working.
Be charged with assault - yes.

I think this is foolish.  And I would not go to a restaurant that had cups and lids like McDonald's if they did not offer straws.  If you are dumb enough to think straws are a problem but do not see a problem with the other items used in fast food restaurants then you are part of the problem.

People are too busy trying to control what other people do.  Everyone does things that someone else would find wasteful.  *Using paper towels - use a regular towel and wash it. I could go on and on.

I do agree the straws not being at the drink station is not her fault. She just works there.  But it was a foolish move on the part of the owner/manager.  You cannot drive down the road turning a big drink up in front of your face.

I say pick your battles. If you do not want to use a straw then don't use one. Some foolishness like this will just make people do it more.  Or like a lot of people I have seen who now take 2 straws and put in their drink. lol

That customer had no right putting his hands on that worker. He got what he deserved and she happened to be a boxer and beat the breaks off of him. And she still had her job.

I saw the video and she really started going after him. They said she was a small girl too.  I wish all the male staff would have hurriedly defended her.  From what I have heard the guy was homeless.  I don't know and it's really no excuse, but oftentimes there are drug and mental health issues among the homeless.  The problem is you never know when people might have a knife or gun! Am I right that this happened because the guy wanted a straw?

Why should only the male staff have defended her.... in this day & age of gender equality it is quite sexist to specify only one gender should defend the girl.  With all the hatred for the patriarchy & the negativity towards males going on these days, let the women staff come to her rescue... though she took care of the situation herself.

Well, don't you have a "special" attitude!  A little afraid of women being equal to you in rights and wages, for example?  Sounds a bit like it.  Nonetheless, we are not and usually cannot be equal in strength, and being old school, it is just nice when a gentleman, and I'm using the term loosely, would help her out.  Luckily, when I saw the video a second time, several men did move to help if she needed it.  I guess no one should count on you.  Pity!

Agreed that is not right. No one should have the right to put their hands on someone else unless they do it in pure self defense.  This world has lost it.
