Dyeing ones hair
« on: December 23, 2018, 04:08:22 am »
I am so sick and tired of being a slave to hair dye that I have decided to go grey. Is 61 to early to go grey?....are YOU grey/white yet? INQUIRING minds wants to know :)

It is your choice. No one is every forced to dye their hair.

I tried to let my hair be gray, but it looked so foreign to myself. So I went back to coloring it.  I have family in the salon business, so I get it done professionally.

My gray is more silvery/white.  I've never tried to cover it.  I'm in my late 50's.  8)

I've started seeing a lot more grey hairs in the last year. I like them actually, but I don't like my natural hair color. I use henna because chemical dye makes my hair fall out in clumps. It's a pain because it takes much longer to do, but my natural color is so boring.

in my family the women all go grey very early! My grandmother was grey at 18 :(

Right now my hair is grey and short, but it looks really nice, right now my hair looks like Jaime Lee Curtis with her short hair

I don't bother dyeing my hair.  My daughter usually does it, once a year, when I visit her.  I just don't care enough about it to put out the effort and expense.  Funny story.  I am 63 and pretty gray on top but the middle and bottom of my hair is still pretty brown.  The last time I went to visit my daughter and her kids, she dyed my hair and it was quite a bit darker than she usually gets for me.  Usually she's pretty close to my natural color.  We did it when the kids were in school.  When the youngest came home from preschool, she looked at me and immediately said, Oma!  Your hair is so dark!  I laughed and said, yes, Mommy dyed my hair this morning.  She said, but, it's so dark!  All day she commented on how dark my hair was.  At night, when they went to bed, they wanted me to come in when they said their prayers so I did.  She said, Oma, I like your hair better white.  So, there you have it.  Out of the mouths of babes!

:menorah:   :santa:   :snowflake:  If you feel the need to not dye your hair you don't have to. Your hairs your personal choice. If you need to take a time away from dyeing it you can, you can go back to dyeing it at a later day if you feel like you need to.  :menorah:   :santa:   :snowflake:

Two years fast my hair is graying so right now i decided to color it. I'm just so busy at work that I can't do it. I still young so just want to cover or maybe put high lites on it.

I think you should do whatever makes you feel good about yourself. It sounds like a big hassle to me now, but maybe I'll change my mind by the time I get there :p

Some grays are beautiful and some not so much. I would judge how much you like your color of gray and go from there.   :icon_rr:

I have two or three strands of grey hair already, but I don't plan on dying them. I don't want to dye them because once you start, you have to continue dying your hair. I rather wear wigs or weaves when I want to change up my look.
