Amazon Prime

If any of you USE AMAZON PRIME & KNOW can you tell me can you tell me if when you get the free 2 day shipping if it is delivered to your door by UPS or does it switch over to the post office?  Seriously considering getting this but if I have to go to the post office and pick the package up it could be a deal breaker.

I have done the trial before and you do get your stuff within 2 days. Sometimes it is not till 8pm on that second day though.

I'm speaking as a long-time Prime member: I rarely get my items within two days anymore. Since Amazon switched to their own delivery service, I'm constantly having items out for delivery only to have them make "a mistake" and the item returns to their warehouse for a day or two before they decide to actually deliver it to me. And then there's the UPS SmartPost or whatever their service is called that hands the item off to USPS for delivery... those are always delayed at my post office. Then, I'm constantly having items arrive damaged due to improper packaging.

When my membership comes due, I'm not renewing... especially at the newly inflated rates, this year my account renewed just before the inflation set in and paid the usual old price and it's been worse than ever.

I have Prime. Sometimes packages are delivered by Amazon's delivery service, sometimes it's UPS, sometimes it's handed off to USPS. I live in a major city with an Amazon fulfillment center nearby, so sometimes I even get packages the same day I ordered. So I really think it depends on where it's shipping from and where you live.

I love it, I live in a rural area not anywhere near. Amazon. But I can always figure on getting my items on the day they say it will be delivered. Not really 2 days because of it having to go  to the  big city and then split and  sent on to us. Always get  UPS. Right too the door and if it is  heavy they will bring it right on into the house for me. The joys of living in a rural area is you know who will be bringing it. But if I order it on Fri, Sat, or Sunday I know it will be here  on Wed.

I have been a prime member for years.   It varies, sometimes it's UPS and sometimes it USPS.  I have no idea how it's determined which it will be.  I've had large packages delivered by the post office and small packages delivered by UPS.  I still, most orders, get them within two days, depending on what time of day I place the order, it could be three days.   For me it's worth it since I get so many Amazon gift cards from various sites I work.  I enjoy the fact I can place and order and not have to pay for shipping and we enjoy the other benefits of Prime.

It really depends where the item is coming from for me but a lot of the times it arrives through their own delivery service.

But if it comes UPS then you should get it at the normal time your UPS driver usually runs.

I don't even know if there is a warehouse in my state. I do know Amazon does not have it's own service delivering in my state or my area any way. Kind of doesn't seem too worth it. I am thinking about doing the trial and then cancelling it. haha

I've been a member for years.  I almost always get it within the 2 days.  It mostly comes FedEx but if it's a small item it might come US mail.  I did have a minor problem last month, I ordered something and it was suppose to be delivered Thursday.  I followed the tracking information and yes, Thursday was the day (by 8 pm). When it got to be 6 pm I had my doubts but who knows it might come.  Well when it was 8:30 and nothing i called Amazon.  They put me on hold (post office was suppose to deliver it) spoke to someone came back with that  they would  guarantee  (Amazon) it would be there next morning and gave me a $10.00 credit.  It was on my step by 9 am Friday morning and I did get the credut.  I love Prime and will continue to be a member, love the shows and movies on Prime too.

Thank you. This is helpful.  What about the TV and Movies? My niece said most of the stuff she wants to watch even though her mom has prime she is asked to pay for it.

You actually are paying for the shipping though.  Because you pay for the membership.  This also helps.  IF I have to get out and go to the post office anyway that defeats the purpose. I don't want to have to go pick up the package.  I hate this new way of doing it.  Ship it to me means SHIP IT TO ME not the post office.

Hi,
Prime is fantastic.  You do get your order delivered in one to two days.  I have subscribed to Prime for this reason.  I would certainly recommend Prime to anyone.

We have had prime for several years, do not like it as much as we use to.  I live 11 miles from one of there big stores and it is usual in 2 day, only it come from the post office. They did better before the post office was helping them
