Do you see the unemployment rate dropping in the next 6 months?

I don't think so. Perhaps just a slight change. Unemployment rate to me is still the same.

No, I only see things getting worse.  The government keeps butting their nose into every industry that we have in the United States and everytime they butt in we lose jobs.

What gets me is the feds keep shoving 'economic bailout' money into companies that are doing awful. It's like rewarding failure-- keep in mind whenever this happens, the value of our money goes down.

I heard from one of my friends a few weeks ago that the senate is passing a bill that allows people to see who/where the money is going to and approximately why (making it public). Does anyone know any news or info on this?

The Senate has to pass it first. Then it goes back to the House of Representatives I think. Then on to Obama for final approval.

i hope so.
i need a job!
but if i don't, i guess i have no choice but to babysit the nephew still.
it's little money but it's worth it
but he's growing
so i hope the days go by slowly (except when he's bad i want the day to go by faster)

The unemployment rate is definitely not what it should be.  If you pay attention to the method they use, you'll see that it changes and the values in each group don't seem to add up.  Part time workers are included as being employed in some states and not others.  There's also those who have decided to go back to school instead of working or the ones who have given up completely.

If the US doesn't start doing more to stimulate manufacturing and the creation of goods, rather than services, we're going to be stuck in a rut for quite a long time.

The last I heard that it is supposed to be FINALLY voted on 10/27/09.  The job situation is much, much worse than the figures currently being reported.  I am still looking myself.  It has been over a year now.  I cannot even get interviews for jobs paying 50% LESS than what I used to make.  That's all that's out there now.

My husbands work closed in Feb.2008 and he was trying to find work every since while collecting unemployment. A year and a half later he finally landed another half way decent job. Not quite as much per hour as the last one but it does pay the bills. Thank goodness for the extensions for unemployment otherwise we would probably be homeless.
