I am Not Ready for This

When doing a survey today, I was asked for my Gender. 
There were THREE choices;  Male
                                          Female
                                          Other

I guess I am old fashioned.....I am just not ready for this "OTHER" category.

I have done surveys for quite some time now that also ask for my sexual orientation which I find very disturbing as well. I have been happily married for 24 years. At first I was really upset about this in any survey but now I realize it does not concern me so I just move on.

I had a similar reaction when I first saw that.  It was a couple of years ago though.  If that gets you, then get ready for it.  I've seen a ton of them with more than three options.

I feel the same way , and this deal with bathrooms really makes me angry.

Yeah I had survey like this recently.  Today it said other.  I had another that listed transgender.

If we just put a few more bucks into our restrooms and had several closet-style rooms in every building with their own doors, toilets, and sinks no one would have to pick between male and female restrooms and the whole problem would just go away. When you come right down to it, the whole gender question just comes down to one big financial problem and not much else. That way, anybody could be any gender they want or can dream up without it impacting anyone else. Anybody agree?

First of all, it is a legal protection from folks who identify differently.  I am assuming they could sue against "gender bias".  People get offended and sue for oh so many things these days.

I was created female, born female, been a daughter, wife and mom,  grand-mother and great-grandmother.

However, I just move on as everyone has different issues. Today's younger people often view life trough a different lense than when we were growing up. We have to deal with them gracefully as possible, as we want the same courtesies.  There are always those who wear differences like a badge, and fight, however. 

Purpose of a survey for me is to complete it, and get paid. I do not take it personally. They put gender on surveys to see how differently woman address a subject than the men.

I do get tired of them asking my age.

A few years ago, a survey was not accepting my age then of 73. A box came up and said "Seriously? Please check the age you entered. Experience shows us that less than 1% of people your age are active on the internet".

I confirmed my age, and was allowed to finish the survey.  Funny, but so irritating.

I do agree on the bathroom issue. Just make a third bathroom so everyone can have their own. I will not take my great-grand-kids these. Want them to know who/how they are without confusion.  Alternative views are often from people with anger, hostile attitudes also. Can be creepy and at times dangerous

I've seen that too.  I don't really understand you are either male or female.

I can't say it really bothers me but I find it rather funny I thought there was just male and female but then I'm old and I have the age issue too they always want my age again then birth year too
