I took my ballot in yesterday. Colorado had eighteen questions related to judge retainment and I now feel it necessary to research everything. The ballot also had about twenty amendments that required seerious thought. There was a question regarding the abolishment of slavery. Normally this would be an open and shut vote until you think of prisoners forced  to do community service. Prisoners owe a debt to society for crimes committed. Forced community service would be seen as slavery. Abolishment of slavery in this scenario would mean that communities would lose the benefit of much needed free labor because the prisoners would be seen as slaves if they were forced to provide free labor. I believe that the amendment proposal needed to be rewritten and better defined.

Slavery was abolished a long time ago.  Prisoners are not slaves. Most of them do not provide free labor.  They do have trustees or may be called something different in other areas.  And they as far as I know are paid but they money goes toward their fees so they don't actually see any money. I don't think this is fair.

Not voted yet. The ads on TV and online for the candidates are starting to get very annoying. I will be happy when election season is over! And then of course it's time for all the Christmas stuff being shoved down our throats. Its safe to say I hate November and December. lol  :bad:

I am tired of the ads for the election. If you don't want to celebrate Christmas then don't.  I get annoyed with people complaining about Christmas and I wish it was over.  Nobody makes you participate.  Same with the election.  I can ignore the ads. And I throw the stuff away I get in the mail and I do not read any of it no matter who it is from.

There are more lines for early voting that voting day in my area.  Unless you are standing there when they open.

I plan to vote bright and early on Tuesday morning when the excitement of the election is in the air. I love to walk to the polling place near my house.

I always vote early. Which means I won't have to take off work and go stand in line and vote. Voting early means we don't have to mess with some one sanding out side wanting to know who I voted for, I always vote  and have since in was 21 that was the age you could vote back then. I am now 75. Missed one day of voting. Baby came early.  If you don' vote then don't complain about who won.

This always happens to me.  Every single election, I say that I am going to vote early in the next one.  And then it sneaks up on me and it's too late by the time I think about it.

Yes, but I only did so as a favor for those who still do care who is or might be governor, president, etc.

I've read this comment four or five times and still cannot understand it. Are you saying that you don't care who wins, but you voted as a favor to those who do care? If that's the case, then it seems to me that you did a disservice (what is the opposite of 'favor'?) for the roughly half of dedicated voters who were opposed to the candidates or issues you voted for.

I say vote for your OWN choices and issues because of how those candidates affect your own situation and values - not for someone else's blind opinions.  Apathy at the ballot box does favors for no one.
