Sandwich Thins
« on: October 22, 2018, 09:23:57 am »
Has anyone out there ever tried Sandwich Thins and did you like them?  I tried them years ago when they first came out and wasn't crazy about them and never bought them beyond the first time.  I looked at them at the grocers the other day and thought hey I should try these again and I love them now.  For anyone who doesn't know they are round pieces of bread almost a cross between a roll and slice of bread and I made an egg sandwich on one this morning.  For folks who don't like a lot of bread in their sandwich it is a good deal.  Yummy

I  use them quite a lot.  Now they are even doing a bagel thin  and they are bad either. It I hard to  eat a whole bagel. They are so thick and sometimes tough. But the thins are  now. Sara Lee makes them.

I actually was part of a test group that tried these before they even hit the market. YAY!  I do like them.  I like some flavors better than others. I have tried a couple I did not care for. I like the regular the best I guess. You do know that the thing you get out of the package comes apart and is actually 2 pieces right? Not insulting you but when we first tried them I thought it was one piece and we made a sandwich with what actually was 4 pieces. lol So the thin you get out of the bag comes apart, has a top and a bottom.  I missed that the first time I ate them. smh

Yes countrygirl12 I do realize it is a top and bottom and no offense taken LOL.  I didn't make that clear in my post.  I am going to try making pizza's on the two halves next and I think that might work out real good.  Thanks for your response.

I've never heard of those. I don't like a lot of bread in my sandwich either, so I will look for them on my next shopping trip.

I like fat bread.  Not as good for the waistline, however.

Like I said, the first time I ate them I didn't realize that.  And I have done the pizza thing. Worked pretty good.  Just put some pizza sauce on it and add what toppings you want. I think I either just done cheese or maybe added pepperoni.

Have not heard of it until you said it, then googled it and was thinking isn't that just a crackerbread.

I've never tried Sandwich Thins nor have I ever heard of them, but your pizza comment sprung a snack memory for me. We like to make Triscuit Pizzas in our home every now and then. Fill up a plate with about 9 or 12 crackers in a single layer pattern; hit each one with a dollop of pizza sauce, a slice or two of pepperoni or some sausage crumbles, and a healthy sprinkling of shredded cheese on top. Microwave it for about 20-30 seconds and voila!

We liked to experiment with the different Triscuit flavors as the crust base. I think my favorite was Rosemary and Olive Oil.

So anyway, thanks for letting me briefly hijack the thread. Now back to the discussion of Sandwich Thins!   :highfive:
