I use to like Sears and have bought several things from them.  The last experience I had was with a local store and it was not a good experience.  I would not go into a Sears store for a long time.

I worked for  sears for  17 years, until I got married and moved to town that didn't  have one, always enjoyed my work. But it seems like when we closed  the   catalog department we started going  down hill.  The Sears store I worked at  has finally closed. What a shame.

I thought all of the Kmart stores were already closed until a holiday book came in the mail today. The one that was near my house closed and I miss it, I use to like their sales after the holidays.

filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy. To bad I liked to shop at sears for some things. Bought our washing machine about 6yrs ago and it works fine. Will maybe look to  see what they have and the prices. I suppose this is the way with many stores  now with the monster amazon.Still like to walk in a store  in a wheelchair but you get the idea. Fun to touch things and just look.

Hello! :D :)

I think in the future the majority of shopping is going to be done online. Majority of Brick stores will close to be found online. Which means a lot more unemployed people as stores close their doors. Maybe everything done online will be our future? :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:

For lots of people in small towns stores like sears and jc penney were the main shopping for instore and mail order,  It is sad to see them go.  I like going to the store to see and feel things n person, but a lot of people just do not have that kind of time anymore.

Stores have done it to themselves. Poor customer service and rising prices. I am not sure why people hate Amazon so badly. Jealousy maybe? Use to be Walmart until Amazon got bigger.  I personally like Amazon.

One of many to come. Chapter 11 is a corporate restructuring of debt so they will still be around, for a little while at least. A lot of their stores should be closing as shopping malls begin to diminish and Sears has locations that do not make sense. For instance, we have a posh, luxury mall in Colorado and Sears holds a spot at this location. The retail rent is astronomical and met by stores like Nordstroms, Montblanc, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue. The clientele is not looking for discount clothing, tools and appliances. It is, most likely, because of poor decisions like this that Sears needs to restructure. Internet shopping is killing brick and mortar locations by offering cheaper prices, convenience and crowd avoidance. Fulfillment centers can now cover larger ticket items.

Was Sears there first? A lot of times you have a store and then others come in who are competitors and can push them out. That is how it is in business.  People are becoming more and more to where they just want to order it online and have it shipped to their home. I swear if I could work from home and order everything online and never go out in public again I just might take the option.

There are so many stores going out of business.  Not sure how bad it will affect the employees.  It will affect shoppers at other stores because they raise their prices about 300%,

Nope there is one in a town about an hour from me I didn't know still existed. I love their shoe department.

I haven't been to Sears in a long time.  I was a little girl when I went with my mother and father so it sad to see sears go into chapter 11 bankruptcy.

It's a shame another closing.  Trust me I love shopping online but I still love going into stores.  Soon there will be no stores left. 😥
