I need a little white noise when I sleep as well (I use a fan). I'm finding that I need more sleep than I used to, but sleeping pretty good!

Interesting topic!! I have 4 pillows on my bed even though I'm the only person who sleeps on it. It's a Queen -- double-sided bed where one side is firm and one is soft. I will ONLY sleep on the soft side. Whoever my partner is gets the firm side. That's not negotiable. I craddle the pillows like they're a person sometimes. Sleeping alone does get kinda lonely ...

My ex-husband needed a fan on to sleep. I thought it was weird. Meanwhile, my ex-boyfriend would sleep in a chair rather than his actual bed. I think you can't possibly be getting the same quality of sleep if you're in a chair.

I use a CPAP at night that helps me sleep deeper and stop snoring. I love my CPAP and can't imagine sleeping without it, even though I've had it for less than 4 months. Lol.

I don't want a night light but I do need some hint of light even just the light of the night sky from a window, I find it disconcerting to be in a totally black room where I don't have any speck of light to orient myself. Also have some hearing issues where I definitely rely on a fan and/or tv in the background or something to mask sounds.

I like complete darkness and no noise when I sleep, it is hard for me to fall asleep at times so anything that distracts me is not good.

I sleep with two pillows under my head. Usually hug one and have one between my knees. Have slept like this for years. Have not changed sleeping habits since retiring.

This is such an interesting topic.  We are all so different!!!  I guess my biggest must is something silky and lightweight like a silk nightgown to put over my eyes to keep out all hints of light.  It also keeps my head warm. I have a regular pillar between my knees and a smaller pillow to hug to my chest.  I use lavendar essential on the soles of my feet, and a diffuser running with a respiratory blend of essential oils, but I absolutely can't stand a fan on of any kind.  I don't like the noise and I don't like the air blowing on me.

I have Tinnitus so I carry my white noise with me 24/7.

Since being in school, I go to bed earlier and am more productive. Sometimes I have a hard time getting to sleep, but that's my insomnia. It's getting better though.

I have to sleep with the television on and it has to be really cool in the house. My Dog has to be in my bed as well.

Isn't everyone's sleeping habits interesting and individual?  In my case, it is really difficult to sleep other than what I said in my initial post.  I sleep anywhere from just an hour or two on rare occasions to about 5 hours as my norm. I wish I could sleep a full 7 or 8 hours but that happens so infrequently! It was really interesting reading about everyone's sleep needs and comparing to my own!

I like it quiet and the only light is from the clock.  I'm only sleeping 5 hours now instead of 8 but I get my nap during the day.

The darker the better but I do need noise in the background so I leave a fan running during the night. I only get about 5 hours a night instead of the recommend 7-8 hours but if I'm feeling sluggish and tired I take a nap!

I think a lot of people do the same thing.  I always fall asleep while watching the TV.  It usually turns itself off
sometime during the night.  I like sleeping in my bed, couch is not for me.  It takes time to get yourself/body into a different habit.  Work on it slowly.

No TV, sometimes I will play some games on my phone though. I hate all lights so it has to be dark.
