Do you have trouble letting go?

I have a lot of trouble letting go of life's problems and difficulties even when there is absolutely nothing I can do about them. I try to put stuff out of my mind but I just become obsessed with thinking about them on a daily basis.  I try praying about them especially when there is not concrete action I can take or I have done all I can but nothing seems to work. Do you have this problem as well or are you able to just move on.

No, I don't have an issue with it.  Pray and put it in God's hands and leave it there.

yes debidoo I do. I try very hard not to, but sometimes it just happens, usually when Im feeling down about something then I start rehashing in my brain all the things that I can not change. Alot of them was having no closure about.

I have trouble  at times with letting my children go. Both passed away at early ages and  once in a while something will crop up and bring them to mind. But for the most part I try not  to let it upset me.  The Lord called both home  and it  took me awhile to  put it  all in his hands. I know they are in good hands.

Well, it rather depends on the circumstances involved.  I have been in life situations where I moved on relatively easily, and there have been several that have been difficult beyond belief.  In the latter case, it took several years to move beyond the feelings that resulted, and at times, still haunt me to a degree.  In these cases, it is usually trying to examine further why it happened and if I could have done anything differently or if I even would have wanted to.

I am doing better at that.  Why make myself miserable? It is only hurting me.  The person you do not like could care less.  There are people who hate me and I have no idea why.  There is a girl I went to school with that I saw recently at Walmart.  The snarl and look of hate on her face when she saw me astounded me.  I am like what is your issue?  We graduated a long time ago.  I do not even remember much other than who she is.  I do remember we were never friends.  I don't remember why, nor do I care.  I don't remember being enemies either. Just she wasn't a person I talked to or hung out at school with.

I have the same problem. I can't stop thinking and over thinking about things. It takes a long time for the problems not weigh on my mind.

Letting go is an issue for me but in a different way. It is too easy to dismiss people and not let them back in my life. I give people a lot of breaks but find that if they continue to take advantage of me I will block them from my life. This easy detachment probably stems from lack of any effort, from my father, to be in my life. My father was a somewhat despicable being in that he hated everyone (including himself). He has been reaching out for the last ten years but I will not let him in. He tried speaking to my children, I think as a means to getting to me, but they sized him up as the hateful person that he is, were very busy, and stopped corresponding with him. I think he gave up a year ago on me and my children. I found out that he gave his antique car collection to my sister-who has also been dismissed from my life after a spent a year trying to save her from her suicide attempts.
