Racist?  Everything is seen as Racist anymore if you don't accept cultures, lifestyles and others choices.  That's just nonsense if ya ask me.  I can't eat at Chili's.  My husband loves the food there.  I went with him once.  Knowing it makes me sick I ordered a salad.  We haven't gone back.

The word "racist" and "bully" are both way over used.  If you do not agree with someone you are called a bully.  If you are a different skin color then you are also called a racist.  People are stupid.  And way too offended.
If you don't agree with me then that is fine. Just sit there and be wrong. LOLOLOL.  I saw that on Pinterest the other night and thought it was hilarious.  Anyway, all people are different and like different things.  There are some foods that I just flat out will not try because I do not want to.  That is my right.  Doesn't make me racist just because a person of a different nationality fixed it.

Anyone who would consider that to be "racist" has absolutely ZERO knowledge of what the term even means. Yet I believe that there are some people who would absolutely scream racism in such situations. It's part of our current political climate, unfortunately.  If you disagree with a particular policy or philosophy, it's because you are a racist.  If you like a particular politician then you are a racist. If you practice a particular religion, you are racist. If you like a particular author or columnist then you must be a racist.  So I suppose if you have a distaste for some type of ethnic food, there must be some racism going on...

It wouldn't be rude to tell them that eating certain foods from their establishment doesn't agree with you, it wouldn't be a racist thing either.

I have zero qualms with refusing food from a restaurant that has made me sick before. My issue is more with how it can appear logically unfair to refuse food from a restaurant I've never even tried.

I have admitted my issue to waiters before and they promise there's no MSG and then I ate to be polite and felt sick anyway. Who knows, at this point it might just be psychological where the flavors of ginger etc. make me queasy by association.

People can't always eat any kind of food, how it is seasoned can make a difference, I know I cannot eat spicy food, my stomach just does not do well with it so I stay away from  certain types of ethnic food even though it may be good; it's just not going to agree with me and I don't think anyone should be offended, it is not  saying the food is no good, but perhaps the thinks that it is cook with tear up my stomach!

I am not going to eat anything to be polite. If I don't like a certain thing I will tell you. There are other foods like escargo aka snails that I am just not going to eat. Deal with it.  As far as a waiter saying there is no MSG in foods - there are certain foods like chineese foods that almost always have MSG so I avoid those restaurants. You can usually tell if they are lying to you.  Or if they appear uncertain I just decline to eat there. I have no issues with going back to my car and leaving.

My mom does not like hot foods. She doesn't eat them. It amazes me that someone would get upset because a person did not like a certain food.  Or even a food YOU cooked. For what ever reason.  I am an adult and I do not have to eat any food I do not want to eat.  I also would not force a kid to eat something they did not want to.  I would encourage them to try something new because I missed out on good foods when I was a kid because I didn't even try them. And no one forced them down my throat.

I'm American why would I be offended that someone doesn't like American food.  I could care less what kind of food someone likes and doesn't like.  I eat all kinds of ethnic foods.  If I get sick most likely it's because of improper food handling not just because it comes from a specific ethnicity.

I've never even heard of food preference being an indicator of racism.  But I suppose its possible, ludicrous, but possible.

Doesn't bother  me a bit, I know when some  relatives come to visit from back  east they are not use to  eating the Mexican food like we are, so I  fix what they can eat, then when they leave I  fix a big batch of  what ever Mexican food we want.  But  as one person said  the MSG  can upset some people and  I always look for the eating places that advertise not MSG, but  still leary enough to watch what I eat. And if I go  and they use it, I will just eat a salad and fruit off the buffet.

People take so many things as an offense these days, and they tend to call everything racists, when racism has nothing to do with the issue.

It's the "in" insult.

:pumpkin:   :pumpkin:   :pumpkin:   :pumpkin:  I've been around a bunch of people that say they won't eat at certain places anymore do to sickness. Would be a bit awkward to tell a waiter/waitress that you get sick from this type of food.  :pumpkin:   :pumpkin:   :pumpkin:   :pumpkin:

I won't eat Chinese food from any source because it's made me so ill so many times in the past that I'm not willing to gamble anymore. Even the smells bring back bad memories that make my stomach nervous. My family however loves it, so we still occasionally go to a Chinese restaurant together, where I don't order anything (I usually tell the waiter I have a food allergy because it would feel so rude to admit the truth). Some people tell me that's racist, I say you can call me whatever you want if I can avoid a full body evacuation.

If you were a chef/waiter/home cook, would you be offended if somebody came to your meal and respectfully admitted that your nationality's food makes them ill?

Okay, people need to get over it!! It's not your fault if a certain food makes you physically ill, and it's absolutely, 100% NOT RACIST. There are so many people that cannot tolerate foods other people can, that's all there is to it. I have a sensitive stomach myself and cant even drink carbonated beverages. It shouldn't be offensive to someone if a dish makes someone's stomach sour.
