New Printer - Need help.
« on: September 28, 2018, 10:14:56 am »
Bought an Epson WF2650 printer. Took me over a week to decide. My WF630 came to end of life. Came last night and been trying since this morning to set it up. Four hours so far and just can't get the different lines set up. I got my phone back but that's it. Printer does state the phone line needs to be connected to the phone jack. Did that but then I had no phone.

My WF630 was a snap to hook up. The new one has 4 phone jacks, one called LAN. Instructions were no help. Anyone else have this model printer and can tell me which "jack" go to printer and phone/fax?  I'm ready to send the dang thing back. >:( >:( >:(

I found an instructional video on youtube on setting up my TV. Maybe they have a video on your printer.

I found the full manual on line but it's not so great either. Thanks for the tip on videos. I'll check. Epson did have a video on setting up wireless printing but I'm not ready for that. I want to print from my computer. <:(

I do not have my printer connected to a phone line. You can usually call support and they can tell you what to do.

Update: Spent 2 days trying to download and set up the printer. No luck. Called Support today, explained the problem. Their solution? Need a USB cable. No, I don't. The one I have works well with the other printer. No problem. So...after trying to explain again, and she either didn't understand or didn't really want to help, I got furious and told them I'm sending it back and hung up. BTW, it was scary that they had my info already, phone name and address.

Sorry for your dilema. I am in the market for a new printer but I will go to amazon and get one . Before I get it I will look up the you tube instructional  video on it before buying it so I know what to expect when I set it up. Good luck with your printer :)

Once you try wireless printing you probably will be hooked. I love being able to print to my laser printer from any device in the house.
