I use a hand mixer and and butter with some milk.  Sometimes I will add garlic but most times the milk and butter make it so good without it.

I put cream in  (or evaporated milk) butter, salt and pepper.  This is making me hungry and it is early in the morning.   LOL

I mash them up with a fork. I add milk and some seasonings. I also make various dishes with potatoes. My husband and I love potatoes.

I save some of the water the taters were boiled in.  Then when I mash em I use the water, butter, salt n' pepper and sometimes a splash of sour cream.. if I any left over from taco night.  Speaking of... sometimes instead of using a taco shell we'll use baked potatoes and have idaho taco's.

I have a hand mixer and a  potato masher, but a lot of times I just use a fork.  Not many of us around that know how to do it anymore.  I laughed so hard at my grand son when he saw me doing it.  He  ask me ( grandma are you poor . )  Had to tell him that  it was the  way  my grandma used to do it. He just couldn't understand how it works with out a hand mixer. Kids now a days just don't  get it sometimes.

agree that slow cooker is the easiest and worth the wait!  also has the added benefit of keeping them hot for hours....

:bunny:   :cat:   :dog:  I use a hand mixer. If I don't feel like using that I use a fork to mash the potatoes. I butter, milk and sometimes a bit of sour cream for taste. Salt and pepper can be added to each persons liking.  :bunny:   :cat:   :dog:
