Olive Garden

I don't like the Olive Garden, my family is Italian and it tastes like garbage when you're used to real Italian cooking. I think last time I was there I relied mostly on breadsticks to get me through the meal haha

My sister took me there for a belated birthday lunch/dinner. I haven't eaten there in nearly twenty years. I was surprised that their marinara sauce, at least, tasted good. If I ever go back, I may have to try a dish with their meat sauce (I got chicken alfredo).

Anyone else have an experience with being "meh"or "bleh" about a restaurant, only to change your mind years later?

Different establishments can have way different quality of food even if it is the same chain.  And over the years food can change from being really good to not so good.  Owners can get their ingredients from where they want. Just like charge what they want.  Little Ceasars ads say $5 hot and ready pizza all day every day.  Our local Little Ceasars charges $5.50 for the hot and ready (which means it has set in that warmer for half the day and is dried out and no good or fresh) pizza.

I have not ate at an Olive Garden in years but may this weekend.

Not necessarily. I have heard both good and bad (mostly bad) about Olive Garden. However, I try not to let someone else's opinion affect my perspective of a restaurant. I would prefer to draw my own opinion based on direct/firsthand experience.

I used to dislike McDonald's but now I crave it all the time.

I enjoy the endless salad and plan to go there next week because I haven't been in a a few months.  I'm going to a different place each weekend in November to celebrate my birthday.

I am not a fan of Olive garden.  Some years ago I ordered a take out and once I was home I found that some of the foods were just taken out of a can. Not even cooked or warmed.   I was pissed.  That turned me off completely.
