I am in Florida and most here say soda, but I was raised in the midwest and have always said pop. Never heard of calling it fuzzy drink.

Referring to the carbonated soft drink we say Coke, even if it's not a Coca Cola.

Growing up in the South it was usually referred to as 'Coke' no matter which soft drink brand it referred to.  Coca-Cola had memorable advertising and a local plant in which the family could tour and bring home a six-pack carton.

Among friends and co-workers I would often hear the terms 'soda,' 'soda pop' or just 'pop' used.  This would undoubtedly bring about an interesting conversation.  I've never heard of 'fuzzy drink' and am wondering if 'fizzy drink' was intended by the OP?  The word 'fizzy' is sometimes used with the word 'water' to indicate a carbonated drink.

I think most people ask for a POP in my area.  I personally use both terms, POP and SODA, when I want a carbonated beverage like a Diet Coke.

I have not heard anyone say Fuzzy Drink.

I say soda in AZ. Relatives from east coast all say pop. I've never heard anybody say "fuzzy drink" in my life.

I say soda unless I am actually describing the carbon in the drink then I say fizz.  My dad is from the '60's and actually says Soda Pop.  Whenever he says this I always look at him like, 'what the heck is that.'

Growing up in NY it was soda (and the older folk soda pop or pop),  moving south everything is a coke.  Basically in the south you drink either tea (and that would be sweet ice tea) or coke
