Have you tried to get your Mortgage Refinanced for a lower Interest rate? Also if you do get a Refi, possibly you can borrow enough to pay for your Auto. Interest rates are pretty low.

Anyone have any tips on how I can supplement my income? I'm willing to do just about anything because my employer barely pays me minimum wage (and I'm a college graduate).

What I currently do:

1.) Phone sex (I told you I'd do anything)

2. Fusion Cash

3. Selling sodas to coworkers at a slight mark-up

4. Grocery store couponing apps

5. One tenant who lives in my basement

Any other ideas? I have a $1600/month mortgage and $400/month car payment. I'm gonna be broke for awhile. Lol

I am assuming you have cut out the extras like Cable? Eating out? Eating cheaper? I would also look at ways to save money as well as ways to make extra.

Yes, I've cut out all the big expenses. No cable. My roommate and I split the cost of internet (otherwise, I wouldn't have it at all). I go to the grocery store and try to get nutritious, tasty food on a budget every week. I rarely eat out, and when I do, it's cuz I have a coupon. I.E. I had a coupon for a free go-cup at KFC yesterday that I took advantage of. That was my dinner. Mostly. I've gained some weight of late that I'm not happy about, but I guess it's an effect of my depression.

That just does not make sense. If I purchase a car the warranty is good for so many thousand miles and if the car tears up during that time then it should be covered no matter what I am doing. Unless I do something like pour sugar in the gas tank to make my ride sweeter.

Well I think it was an issue of using your personal vehicle for commercial purposes. I am making assumptions here (which I know are a bad place to start from), but if you figure that most taxis put a crap ton of hard miles on their engines...  Not saying that IS the rationale, but bottom line is that the warranty had some sort of "commercial use" clause which voided it by driving for Uber.

I didn't write the warranty language or interpret the warranty language and I don't recall what it specifically said at this point.  As crappy as a result that it was, that is what happened.

I am in agreement with what I believe you are saying.  Miles are miles and that should be the only limiting factor. But in this case it was not.

Thus far, the only way I am currently supplementing my income is through survey websites such as FusionCash. It is very difficult for me to do anything else at the moment, mostly because I am also in school.

Yes that is what I am saying. If it is 100,000 miles then it is none of their business HOW I put the miles on the car or how long it takes to do it.  If I decide to drive from North Carolina to California, which would be clear across the country I would put a lot of miles on the car.  The warranty should cover that. But they are good at wording stuff so they do not have to honor the warranty.  On every thing.  Same with insurances.

1-Lemonade stand (if you live in a populated area)
2-I actually saw someone selling sodas at a 4th of July event. Buy them on sale and raise the price and sell them cold
3-Be a pet sitter/ dog walker
4- baby sit
5-clean people's cars
6-mow grass
7-grocery shop for older people

I don't think adults could get away with setting up a lemonade stand.

There was someone on the news that got arrested for selling sodas on the side of the street. He was outside of some big event.

I don't know about where anyone else lives but in my town there are about 200 people mowing grass.

I would suggest a 2nd job if you really wanted to make extra money  These nickle and dime things are not going to give a big boost to your income.

I hope you get rid of the first choice.

There will be a time down the road you regret it.  It might even lead to more desperate decisions.

Time to look for a better job that pays more.

That will also help to bring the unemployment rate down even further!   LOL

Google Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez and her thoughts on the nation's unemployment rate for a real 'education' on the subject!

As for some of these suggestions, come on, seriously. You can make pocket change, but nothing life changing on any of these sites. I have been on FC for a decade, and still under 4k. I do Cashcrate, maybe can cash out every other month (min is $20), inbox dollars, although that's gotten more difficult too. (If you hit $30, they pay the processing if you can get to $40 in 30 days).

Lyft/Uber is "good," but you have to be willing/able to drive at peak hours to really earn anything. Plus, remember that you have to set aside withholdings for that because you are not having any taxes withheld when you get paid.

Honestly, get rid of those big expenses!!! I have now been divorced almost 10 years and it has just recently gotten to the point where I feel like I am not drowning. I do not have a car payment and my mortgage is under 30% of my take home pay. I do not receive child support.

It is very freeing not worrying about every dime, I hope you can get to that point. Working all your waking hours is no way to live!!

I always find it funny when people say get rid of those big expenses. You have to have somewhere to live.  There is a place for rent I saw on FB today in my home town and the rent is almost 3 times what my mortgage payment is.  WHY would I sell my home and live in somebody else's house where THEY control what I do and pay more money?

And you have to have something to drive.  Why would you buy a second hand piece of junk when you have something reliable that will pay off in a few years.  I just don't understand that logic.

Getting rid of big expenses does NOT mean selling your house or buying junk. It could be just as simple as shifting around what you currently have. My comments/suggestions/thoughts were based off a very limited post, and sorry if you disagree, but it's true. If you can't get more income, you need to eliminate expenses. So if that means taking every extra penny you have to pay down/eliminate a big monthly expense, then you need to do that.

Otherwise you can come on these sites and spend hundreds of hours to make a few bucks that you RELY ON to pay your bills.

I do not "count" on the money I earn here. It is "fun money" to spend on other things.

I'm not saying I've never been hard up, because I have. People just need to come to grips with reality.

My husband drives Uber and Lyft to supplement our income.  I also just came across another job, which is becoming big these days, shopping.  You can be a shopper for a grocery store.  You can do just in store shopping or you can do the shopping and deliver the order.  I was thinking about doing the in store shopping.

I do online surveys from panels I joined to supplement my income. I'm thinking about building my own website to earn as a blogger.

Listen to all the suggestions and then pick and choose what is best for you.  Having a home at your age is fantastic.   Maybe you can get rid of the cable and do Hulu, Roku, Sling or something else that is less expensive,,,as you know every penny counts. I would keep an eye out for another renter, just because one was a dud, there are still some good ones looking. I know working around school schedules is tough but maybe you could find something that pays better. In the long run if you can stick it out through a rough time you will be financially better off with your own home and with a reliable vehicle plus a better education.  Good luck in your endeavors!
