That is all they are required to do unless the package is specified to require a signature.  Most general population do not know that.

I am not too much of a fan of Fed Ex, as others said the packages look like they have been run over.  Many years back we had a great Ups driver, now they sneak in as quietly as possible and your package can spend all night out in the rain (with t'storms no place is "dry") and UPS seems to have an aversion to plastic bags  which I give FedEx credit for using. Also the driver has a problem with 724 and 742  ugh!!!   USPS does a good job, probably shouldn't say that, lol.

If it spends all night outside that is your fault not theirs. You should know when you have something coming. You can also go to their website and sign up for email and text alerts and you get an email or text message when the package has been delivered. Myself, if I order anything I know when it is coming and keep an eye out for it.

They dropped my last package off in Colorodo. I live in Louisville, KY. I don't even know how that one got messed up.

Haven't used FedEx for a while but they've always been good to me. UPS haven't had problems with them but they've been good to me as well.

Yes. Sometimes they ring the bell and sometimes they don't. It's 50/50.

Sometimes they leave packages in plain sight EVENTHOUGH there is column on my front porch that the package will fit behind of.

I dont detest FedEx/UPS/USPS - just some of the people they hire.

At least FedEx has the courtesy to leave me a note saying we passed, no one was home so we're holding it at our facility.  UPS though...dump and run.  UGH.

It really depends on the driver. I've had some bonehead ones who literally pretend that they tried to deliver a package and say no one was home at all even though there was someone there. Lately I have been lucky with the guys on my route so I'm happy.

I have never had a problem like you are describing.  There are times when they haven't rang the door bell, but it has always been because it was 8 PM or so.

I Very rarely get deliveries anymore but have not had any problems altho you used to have to sign but now you don't most of the time

I'd guess more often than not no one is home during the day when they drop off packages. No sense in sticking around for no one. They have more packages to deliver.

there annoying when they dont ring the bell I've tripped over packages before because I had no clue they were up next to the door
