Jesus commanded after he dismissed Judas...."keep doing this in rememberance of me"the night he was to be killed. To memorialize his death to ransom mankind back from sin.He expected you to be with others that shared the faith. He also said his true followers would have love among themselves. Its a lot easier to be in a congregation that has love among themselves and care about you then others who have a pretense of godly devotion and prove false to its power.

Dont forsake the gathering of 1 another in the same faith.

If anyone disagrees with this they dont support bible.

Yes I do.  I have tried going to church and I just can't end of being able to stand it.  My deceased mom raised us in church and she got the same way after years.  My sister-in-law loves going to church but I can have my own church reading scripture, listening to christian music and I pray every day.

I believe church is in you.  The building itself isn't the main point.  God is.  You follow him, and try to be the best person you can be.  It seems so many churches are corrupt these days, it really saddens me.

So how did Jesus feel when they turned his fathers place of worship into a flea market?Go read about it.Also you are correct.Corrupt religeon today is referred to in Bible as Babylon the great.Babylon was once a country and bible world power where much of false teachings got their start. It began with Nimrod wanting to build a huge tower in defiance of Jehovah.God would have none of that.He scattered them by changing their languages. The book of Revelation <last book in bible?Speaks of Babylon the great getting devoured and passing away.God will put it into the hearts of governments to destroy her for her lies and demonic teachings.

The church is the foundation, what is in our heart and the way we live and obey God commandment will lead us on the right path to heaven.

 :star:  Religion's different for many people. If some choose to attend a church service than that's what they want to do with their time. If they choose to stay at home and watch/read about worship than they can do that.  :star:

Does anyone think that attending church every Sunday is a necessity as a Christian? Or can church live in us? Having devotions in the privacy of your home?

I think attending church regularly helps you stay grounded in your faith.  Being a part of a church family can really help you and support you and your faith.

I believe you can worship God anywhere, any day on your own or with others.

I think that really comes down to individual preference. It seems like it would be much more important to consider how you treat others versus the number of times someone attended church. Though there is a real sense of community with regular churchgoing too that I think helps encourage people which is great too.

When I was younger, going to church every Sunday was a non-negotiable event. Now that I am older, I do not think it should be a necessity. As long as your heart is genuinely good and you believe in the Lord, you shouldn't have to go to church every week. I try to make a few moments with "the man upstairs" as a priority. I even sometimes watch Joel Osteen on the weekends just to receive some good spiritual guidance.

I agree with Rob 110 and UGetPaid.  The bible says we should assemble with others so I feel it's necessary for me and I also enjoy the fellowship with others attending.

Lets make it official

Heb 10:25 New International Version
not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
