I've had bout's of Carpal Tunnel.  I'm a cake decorator and my hands are constantly moving in repetitive directions.  Between base icing and squeezing the pastry bag my right hand is stiff most of the time.  I had a severe flare up when I first began but it affected my elbow (tennis elbow) more than my wrists.  3 cortizone injections later I was told to find something else to do.  So I stopped decorating for several years.  Went back into it and learned a few tricks to help before it get's bad.  My elbow is strong now.  I feel it in my thumb more than anything.  I sleep in a brace.  I wear my brace whenever I can.  I ice my wrist when I feel it getting stiff.  I make adjustments with the icing and using the other hand whenever I can.  And take OTC pain relievers when I know I'll be using lots of buttercream and doing lots of orders.

I recently been diagnosed with this condition.  I use my computer a lot, for hours but when I looked it up it states it has nothing to do with using your devices for a long time. It has a lot to do with a nerve in your hand. Anyone heard of this condition?

Yes, I am doing exercises to avoid it ...

Carpool tunnel is so hard to work with but you have to exercise you hands and arms so much more to get through.

My 3 brothers, my sister and my mom were all diagnosed with it. My brothers and my mom had surgery. They were ok, not great after surgery. My sister didn't have surgery and is better than my family that did. Everyone is different, but I will never have that surgery if I get it.

I had it when I worked at UPS years ago. I had to wear a wrap around my wrist and that seemed to help a little bit.

Mine flares up every so often when I over do a lot. But I just put the braces on and keep going as much as I can.  I don't  stay on the computer like I used to when i was working . for a couple of years I also worked as a waitress also. 2 part time jobs made for more then a full time on my wrists. . along with  that I was also going to school .  Man I was glad when I finished school, and went into management full time and quit being a waitress.  Once it all come together my wrists cleared up a lot.

I have had it for several years.  I use a brace and exercises for it that seem to help most of the time. Sometimes I just overdo ad have a few days of pain.
