What a rough holiday!
« on: July 05, 2018, 07:17:58 am »
We developed thunder storms around 3 p.m. yesterday. One right after the other for at least 3 hours. It rained so hard and so fast that the tiny creek overflowed and took out part of our driveway and yard, the neighbor's yard, and down the road, water coming off the hill took out a macadam driveway really bad. Today we have the flash flood warning until Friday...expect more storms expected this evening.

Last week's storm deposited over 6" of rain but no flooding. Last night's storms had lots of flooding, even a town that never floods. It's been in the high 90s with high humidity all week, so the storms were more wicked than usual.

At least they were over before the town fireworks after dark.

That is a real shame. I'm sorry your holiday didn't go more smoothly. That sounds stressful.

Wish it had rained here.  Then I would not have had to listen to booming fire works til 2 AM.

Wowie wow wow I would say that was a rough holiday for your neighborhood. I am always alone on holidays any more so I consider them all rough but I would say yours was worse.  Well hopes and prayers you guys get back to normal we have been having storms every day as well but thankfully not the damage like you guys suffered.

I know, me too.  I really dislike fireworks near my home.  My pets really dislike them.  They do much better with the rain

I was expecting lots of fireworks where I am at, but I didn't see any! It was nice to not have to worry about it.

So sorry that happened to you.  Our driveway always seems to flood during hard rains too but at least they drain quickly.  I hope things get better for you and am glad you at least got dry for fireworks!

We have had mega-downpours in our area too...and flooding.  The fireworks still went off last night.

Had rain most of the day on the 4th but the neighbors still blew off the fireworks.  The dogs hide all day between the storms and fireworks even the Benedryal did not help this year.
