I read where a lot of people are leaving CA because of the housing cost.
Have a wonderful day!

Wow, that's a lot of money for such a small place and still needs to be fixed up.

I saw where the house I got a $1,000 check for signing a quit claim deed when I left California in 1969 was up for sale again for just over 2 Million.

I believe it. California is very overpriced and the person who bought this house is trying to flip it for a huge profit. I would not even think the value of the house would be that much unless  it is beverly hills :peace:

It was in Simi Valley, so you get rural living right next to easy access to the San Fernando Valley where a lot of movie stars live.

It's going to have to appraise at that or more otherwise somebody has to pay cash for it.

You can sell it with owner financing no matter what the appraisal is. Remember, there are a large percentage of would be home buyers that can't come up with the huge down payments and salary requirements, but will buy anyway with owner financing. That's why I sold my house with a quit claim to a rich buyer who would sell it with owner financing.

I don't know if we are talking about the same house or not but about 5-6 weeks ago on one of the morning magazine shows there was a house in Silicon Valley that had been in a fire and it had sold for around a million dollars.  The new owners supposedly were going to tear it down and build a completely new home.  The reason for the price was the minimal amount of homes for sale in this desirable area for tech employees. Yep, they must be making SOME money out there.  Of course, look at the cost of living, especially around the San Francisco area!

When I lived in San Francisco in 1962 I had a 4th floor walk-up (no elevator) in the Tenderloin district for $90 a month. I was in the Army at the Presidio and only earned $99.37 a month, so I hustled riders from Fort Ord to Los Angeles every weekend in my 9 passenger station wagon for $8 each. It was the same price the bus charged, but I got them there in 3 1/2 hours instead of 8 hours, giving them an extra 10 hours with their girlfriend.
