Although I think marriage for anyone straight or not usually ends in disaster, everyone should be entitled to equal rights. Who cares what someones sexual orientation is as long as they are not affecting you in a personal way.

Because without marriage, they don't get all the legal benefits of it.

To say "Why not just stay together forever without marriage" is pretty offensive, too.  Why should you and your wife/husband be married?  Why not just stay together without marriage?

You can have a baby and not be married.
Actually if you follow a Christian religion you can't have sex before marriage. Which means no babies without marriage. Homosexual people cannot have a child and most do not follow a Christian religion so why even get married? definition of marriage:
the social institution under which a man and woman establish their decision to live as husband and wife by legal commitments, religious ceremonies, etc.

This really belongs on the debate subforum, but I'll post anyways.  I believe marriage (or even that kind of love) is only between one man and one woman.  Marriage and sex was created by God to be between those two genders (that's why they anatomically fit together perfectly).  Homosexuality is a perversion (abomination possibly?) of love and sexuality.  I know this is really going to offend people and I'll get all kinds of crap from people, but that's just what I think.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, that is the beauty of free speech in this world, just like I am of mine, I want the day that everyone gay/straight/transgendered are all equal with equal rights, in the end we are all from the earth, from which we will return. I myself am gay and transgendered, I dont hold hostile to anyones opinion, I dislike that our youth, faces alot of discrimination in life, we are all different yes, but we all come from the same earth. :peace:

*AHEM*

Whatever happened to SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE?

We're talking about LAWS here.  Get your religion away from my government!  Contrary to what you Bible-thumpers may think, the USA was NOT founded on Christian principles!

I will GLADLY hear any arguments against gay marriage that aren't founded on religion (They might not have the same religion as you!  GASP THE HORROR!) and aren't insulting to gays (Like claiming that their love isn't as good as the love between a man and woman).

Oh wait...what's that?  Oh yeah!  There's AREN'T any arguments against gay marriage that are either based on religion or insulting to gays!

How about the fact that a man and a womans body were meant to be together? A mans *bleep* and a womans vagina fit perfectly. And they can create a child. You know why? Because that is nature. That is how it is suppose to be. Oh yeah I forgot it doesn't matter about nature it's all about "love" What's next marrying other species? I mean that's also against nature. I guess we should also be able to marry inanimate objects.

Your argument is a slippery slope fallacy and is therefore invalid.

Also, homosexuality occurs in nature as well.

Waiting for your next argument now.

as far as i am concerned-- live and let live.  god put us on this earth to be happy and to live each day to the fullest- not to squabble about what someone else is doing in the privacy of their own home. i feel that we are all humans first- not certain colors, religions, or sexual orientations. once again- my mother always told me to treat others like you want to be treated. if someone is nice to you no matter what they look like, believe in, etc- you be nice to them. by the same token- if someone is mean or cruel to you regardless of those same factors- you have to option to be nice to them or not.  i see it this way- when you die and go to heaven- everyone starts over with a clean slate- so what does it matter whether they were gay or straight on earth? :angel11:

Personally, each and every person is entitled to feel and give love whatever form that takes.  The sexual diversity of our world is immense and I am not one to judge what a person feels inside their heart.  I am heterosexual and adore my husband but that doesn't mean that my sister who is lesbian shouldn't feel the same love for another woman if that is what fulfills her life.  I want every person to feel happy and accepted for who they are.  There is so much strife and  stress in lives today that to have a special person to cling to is a great joy.  I will not be the one to deny a person that feeling.

Yes, and you completely ignored my response.  You claimed that homosexuality is against nature, and I showed that homosexuality occurs very commonly in nature.
