I would never trust a self-driving vehicle!

I don't know if i could get into a car that had no physical driver.

When will they realize  no self driving car or truck  will be  crash free. The human race is very unprecitable as or the animals roaming around. I will never  ride in one. Even if they  have a driver on board he/she may not be paying attention. Just like we don't pay attention when some one is really driving.

Technology is killing us because it is in use too much! Yes, I love technology, after all, it is the reason we all are here posting, however, perhaps we are overusing it. For instance, these self-driving cars are an example of technology being used too much.

Not a big fan of fully automated, driverless cars  unless I am out partying which is not very often. I consider myself a professional driver after driving in stock car races, being a delivery boy and Milk Man and have a good feel for the road. am pretty good at knowing my surroundings, and anticipating the future actions of fellow drivers. My wife has a new car and it has so many bells and whistles. The worst, and most dangerous, is the slow down function when you get too close to another vehicle. I was merging into heavy traffic and her car interpreted the proximity of the vehicle in front of me as dangerous and applied the brakes. It did not monitor the progress behind me and the braking caused the rear vehicle to slam on it's brakes. I realize that there are a lot of bad drivers out there but I do not think that driverless is the answer.

They do need to stop putting those vehicles on the highways, they are not safe to people to drive or not to drive.

I guess these will probably be the norm in the future, but I just can't get used to trusting a car with nobody at the wheel. That only makes sense if all the other vehicles on the road are computer driven so it's all coordinated, I don't see how a computer is going to react appropriately to unexpected human behaviors on the road.
