There are a few channels that have free movies if you have the Roku box. Roku just added a channel of their own that has free movies (and they change every couple of weeks).

I don't know any sites that are free to watch. You tube is the only one I can think of also but I don't think they are free.

The full length movies are not.  They are usually at the top of the search and it is around $2.99 to watch them and I am not even sure how it works on that site.

Dare tv   = movies and tv and primewire= movies and tv  and all free vhs-bluray quality. With all the technology available esp. search engines you'd think everyone on the web would know. There are also many specific sites that don't use external links but they're iffy with constant reliable content.

I am not aware of any, but  I am sure many people would probably be interested if such a site existed! Maybe there are some places  you can watch with a small fee, just never investigated.

Crackle,  YouTube.  Haven't been on Hulu in a while I guess it's still free for some movies.

I need to check hulu out.  I think I may have had a free account a few years ago.  I never had the paid subscription.  I know Roku has some but you need their device.  I had thought about getting it but don't know enough about it.  I only wanted it for the vudu movies I have.  I have heard Roku has their own channel that you get with the device and there are free shows and movies on it.

I love my Roku sticks. I have one on my smart tv, because it's better than the smart tv selection. Roku has tons of paid and free apps, plus the paid one's usually have free trials. I pay for Sling, Netflix and Amazon Prime. But I use a bunch of free apps too, like Pluto, Shout tv, Filmrise, My Retro Flix (for older movies) and the Roku channel.

But if you pay for those 3 apps are you not paying as much as you would pay for cable? I have seriously thought about getting the Roku. None of these allow you to get local channels do they? For local news and weather? This is what I will probably end up doing. :D

No. I do have a few websites I am going to check out. I know hulu has some but you have to have an account. I am not sure what all you can see for free.  I have the vudu account already and have looked at their free movies but out of 2300 plus I didn't really see anything worth watching lol.

I am a cord cutter and currently have Netflix, CBS All Access and Amazon Prime and all this averages out to about $20 a month. We have used Crackle and they randomly insert commercials during the movie but hey, it's free to use.

When I had Directv, it was about $150/mo for a mid-tier package, no premium channels. With Netflix, Amazon & Sling (Blue plan + Hollywood Extra), I pay less than $50/mo. You can get some local channels with Sling, but it depends on where you live. I only get one local channel (Fox), but I never watched the local channels when I had them anyway. So I guess it depends on where you live and what you like to watch.

Netflix, Amazon Prime, and CBS All Access all together are $20 a month? I have heard of Crackle. I don't really care if there are ads here and there. I turned my cable off years ago. I will never have it again.
