I loved to roller skate when I was a teenager. Now I would break something.

Yes I can roller skate but I don't anymore because the roller rink located near us closed down. When my kids were young I used to have their birthday parties at the roller rink and they were always well-attended and all the kids had a great time. Roller skating is a really fun way to get a lot of exercise!

It has been so many years since I have been on rollerskates.  Afraid to now, broken bones don't mend as quickly as when you are young.  We spent many of weekend nights at the local roller rink...   childhood memories...
Have a wonderful day!

no I definetly can NOT! Nor ice skate either. I remember having days back in grade school where the class would go to the roller rink, I hated it :( They always made you try it, and no matter how many times I tried I just couldnt do it

I haven't skated in years here in NY I can't find a roller skating rink anywhere anymore. I wish there were roller skating rinks near me again

Used to be really good at roller skating but at my age I can barely walk without running into things and falling down now. No way I'd try wheels again lol

Many years ago, I used to roller skate to school (not the boot type), but the kind with the key  (1940's and 50's).

Later, I took my kids to the roller rink regularly, and used to roller skate with friends.

Today I am 75, and I would never put anything that rolls on my feet.

Was great while it lasted.

Yes. Unless, of course, you mean without falling down. Then; no.  :monkey:

Yes, I can skate, but badly.

You know when you go to a rink, and someone falls down, and causes others to fall, and you have a pile of bodies?

That kid was me.

I was also the last kid picked for any sport at school unless my friend, Debbie Wilson, was chosen captain, and she picked me.

THAT'S friendship, because I am a menace to any type of sport.

This is a very cute post. Thanks for sharing.

When I was a kid I can rollerskate forward. After a few years off of skates I forgot how to. Then I learned how to skate backwards. Then in my late 20's I was done with skating  :)

I was very good at it, when I was much younger; but now as retiree nearing Medicare I would not even think of it! I could ice skate as well; but those days are long gone don’t want to risk broken bones or any type of fractures; but I do enjoy watching others skate!
