Pierced my 6 month old's ears

I just pierced my 6 month old daughter's ears. A lot of people believe that it's wrong because she has the right to choose whether or not she wants to put holes in her body. I understand that and I agree (somewhat) but at the same time my mother did the same thing to me when I was a few months old and I'm not upset with her. Also, my entire family is Italian and it's just what we do. The baby girls get earrings. What are your thoughts?

I think it is none of any one else's business. I probably wouldn't do it if I had a baby daughter but I don't condemn others who do it.  Nobody has any right to say anything about it at all. Now if you have a sex change for her because you wanted a boy then yeah there is a problem. Ear rings ain't no big deal.

I would never do it, as I believe a baby is beautiful already.

I do understand, with family heritage, but I would not trust myself. I would want a doctor or nurse or trained person to do it.

Glad she is ok.

 

She didn't say she pierced them herself.  The people at Walmart are trained. Doctor's do not do ear piercings.

Personally I think a parent should wait until a kid’s around 13 when they really have agency. When I was in elementary school I was a total tomboy and had no interest in pierced ears lol. Ended up getting them done when I was 17 at a claire’s
