Dye or not to dye
« on: April 03, 2018, 07:16:53 am »
I'm 61 years young and I'm contemplating on whether to go grey or not, I'm tired of being a slave to the hair dye. How old were you when you went all grey?

I never did. Once the grey started showing up, I started coloring my hair. Grey is in these days, though. I'd say if you feel like staying gray, stick with it until you see what your hair looks like until fully gray. If you don't like it at that point, go ahead and color it.

I have my color done occasionally at the salon. But I also have a lot of gray hair in there. A few people have complimented me on how nice my gray hair looks and, though that gives me pause, I still think that maybe I might let it go.

Jury is still out on that. :-\

I do not like my gray hair, it 's only on the sides and when I part my hair, so I dye.

I am 57 and I have a few streaks of grey here and there.  I do color my hair.  My 95 year old grandmother still only has a touch of grey in her hair as the same as my mother.  So, I may never be completely grey.
Have a wonderful day!

I am just about at full grey.  When I look in the mirror I like it but when I look at photos, oh my, I hate it.   Haven't dyed it in years and years but I am at a point where I'm considering it.   What to do, what to do.   :)

I have never went totally grey and to this point do not want to.  It's all about your choice and what you feel about it.  Try it!  If you are not happy, you can always dye again.  I just don't want to see myself with grey hair.  A few women look fine in it, but to me, it is aging on many.

I'm 62 years old and I still dye my hair.  I just can't quite take the leap to letting my hair go all gray.  I don't know when I will stop using hair dye.

I tried keeping mine my natural auburn color but the red shades go the fastest so I couldn't keep up with it and decided to just go natural and for me personally it was the right decision.  I get compliments on the color all the time as it came out a mixture of silver and blond and I am happy with it and don't have to even try to keep up with hair dye.  You can always try it and then go back if not happy with how it comes our naturally.

:rose: :rainbow: :rose: Younger people are now dying hair grey. It's somehow became a trend that has been around for awhile now. I think grey's a cool color. If mine had more grey I would probably keep the color longer, before changing, but I don't have that many grey hairs just yet!  :rose: :rainbow: :rose:

Drink Lemon juice, eat liver, bananas and all these other foods and drinks that are great for your hair plus water  and let nature take over instead of a box. It's ridiculous how ppl go for the fast fix instead of the right fix, hair goes grey or white for specific reasons.

I've been coloring my hair since I was in my teens... so I'll probably be doing it until I die.

I have this cool product that is like a make-up applicator that just touches up gray instantly, to clean up the sporadic gray roots that show up on the part line & temple between colorings. Wonderful product I think it is called gray away. Lasts a long time.
