I remember candy that looked like the candy in your picture, but I don't remember the dots on the paper.  I guess I was too excited to get to the candy to stop and look at the wrapping!  I remember going to Florida with my parents and seeing salt water taffy in every gift shop.  It was wrapped up in paper twists like those in your picture above.  It was so chewy and delicious!

These things !!

Nope, don't remember that.  Someone talks about how when they lived in the UK they would do that for a pound, and some of the clerks didn't want to count out the 100 pieces of candy, so they would just throw some in a bag for you, and he'd go home and count to see what kind of profit he made.  Sometimes he got something like 400 pieces of candy for the cost of 100.

I remember the penny candy,  but at my age I remember  grandpa buying it in the bulk. Came in a little wooden pail. He would hid them until Christmas and fill all of our stockings , at that time  there were about 30 of us grandkids , and there were all  kinds of stockings  hanging around the living room. Not only did we get this hard candy there  was always a big apple, an orange and some chewing gum and  hopefully a little carved  Christmas ornament. I save all of mine and used them even when my kids were little until their teen years and they were stolen along with  most of my stuff. But I will always remember the good times at Christmas.

How well I remember penny candies. I loved so many of them. We had an old man who drove through neighborhoods selling them on Saturday only. We would always buy some from him.

When my husband was alive he told me about the time a burger king burger cost 25 cent, fries was a dime & you could treat you & your date a combo meal for a little over a dollar!(in the 50th's) Looking at my then 4 dollar combo meal, I couldn't believe it! Today that same como meal's around 8 dollars! & have anyone notice that the burgers keep shrinking every year!🍔🍟🍺

Yeah I remember them, stayed away from them because they were laced with drugs, no wonder you liked them :highfive:  I bet if you had your neighbors key you could get even more money to get more candy lol :highfive: 8)

When I was a small child, I loved penny candy.  Now days those same penny candies cost about 15 cents each.

I remember it and like that you could mix and match what you wanted.  There is a old fashion candy store in the next suburb but cost nothing is a penny any more.

I remember as a kid that with a quarter you could get a lunch bag FULL of penny candy !  I loved the dots on the strip of paper.... Are you old enough to remember the good old days ?

I don't remember candy ever being a penny but I do remember when you could get candy bars at Walmart for 33 cents.
